1 Carat Mexican Fire Opal!!

This is a Mexican Fire Opal, a stone named for its yellow to red colors. Unlike Ethiopian Opals, Mexican Fire Opals are common, not precious, opals, and do not usually possess flashes of color, or color movement; if they do, interestingly, it is often green! They are prized for their translucency and color; they were revered by the Aztecs and introduced to Europe by the Conquistadors who were mesmerized by the stones. This gorgeous stone is faceted into a lovely oval shape, weighs 1.16 carats and measures 8.390 x 7.010 x 4.74 mm. It is unheated, untreated and unenhanced in any way. It is a vivid fiery orange color with really nice luster and shine! Ready to be set in a gorgeous and unique ring!!
