DESCRIPTION/CONDITION
* For sale is a vintage tumbler Monkey Frieze Art Glass Crystal Lowball Metropolitan Museum of Art (MMA) Replica of the Ludwig Heinrich Jungnickel design.
* I am not finding a maker of the item, but research shows it may a designed by Wiener Werstatte, but cannot confirm as there are no markings. This tumbler features modernist monkeys cavorting in vines with a checkerboard pattern framing the scene. The dark elements are glossy and slightly raised the frosted areas have a roughened sand blasted feel. The interior is smooth glass and the bottom features the frosted feel.
* It is relatively heavy and feels very well made. It is no inscribed like other pieces in the collection however it is marked "©MMA" and were sold by the Metropolitan Museum of Art. I attached an article about the collection of pieces as one of the photos that can be found in the Fall 2001 bulletin for the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
* Overall the size is approximately 3-1/2" T x 3-1/4" D
* Good Pre-Owned Vintage Condition: No chips, cracks, paint loss, scratches, discolorations / fading, stains or repairs. The base of the glass has a smoothed areas where it sat on something for quite sometime.
* Please review all photos carefully as they are part of the description and can best describe the condition.
