18” hand carved imitation malachite Buffalo necklace

I bought this Buffalo necklace in the early 1980’s from a man at a gold show in Phoenix. Through this meeting, he and his wife, then became very good friends of ours. He was a mason by trade and upon retiring, got into lapidary work. He liked working with the man made blocks of imitation stone as there was little waste on the materials. This necklace has very good color and marbling in the material he used. Each of these Buffalo pieces were hand carved by him as were the heishi beads in between each Buffalo. Silver cones finish the piece by the clasp. This is as he made it at that time and an incredible labor of love. I cannot even imagine the amount of time each of these pieces took to make. I could restring it and put a new clasp on it if you wish, but I tend to keep the history with it. I will give the name of the maker to whoever buys it.
