A woman name Mary Alta Morris in 1895 in Columbus, Ohio took this T & V (Tressemann & Vogt) set and painted it in gold adornments making it a unique one of a kind piece. This was typically a woman’s traditional pastime back in the Victorian era of painting China.
It is really quite a lovely and exquisite set. Soft rose, carnation and floral pinks and red pastels break up a white base and teal Easter-green top. Golden raised script-like filigree style border, lid, and base accents hand done by Ms. Morris and extravagant golden handles and spout. This set, especially the tea kettle, really gives me Beauty & The Beast vibes :)
With the exception of the sugar bowl appearing to be missing it’s lid—the tea set; kettle, creamer cup, and the sugar bowl are all in very good condition, especially considering the age. There are no chips that I have found on any of the pieces. But yes sadly the sugar bowl lid is unfortunately missing.
