1880's Antique German Porcelain Figurines

Pair of Victorian German porcelain figurines made in 1880's to 1890's. One of the distinguishing marks in German porcelain are very small drill holes that are placed in the unfired piece (see photo). When it is kiln fired, the small holes allow for expansion to occur without damage. Generally, figural fired pieces from Japan, Occupied Japan or China have larger expansion holes. These German figurines have been appraised at $55 EACH and are priced considerably lower.
