Selling this beautiful antique (historic even!) piece of transfer-ware ironstone from my personal multi-decade collection. Made by WT Copeland & Sons in Stoke-Upon-Trent, England. Verified date of manufacture is 1882 (note the "Y" = May & "82" = 1882). The lines that appear in the sky behind the castle are original to the pressing and are NOT scratches. They are beneath the glaze. There are very few silverware scuffs from use (prior to my owning it) and this plate appears to be in overall great condition for being 142 years old. I note no obvious defects. Please see pictures as part of the description.
Add this gorgeous piece of English history to your collection! Stunning castle scene is very intricate and done in a rich brown. Plate measures about 8.5" in diameter. WT Copeland & Sons began in the early 1800s with ties to the original Spode men and famous for their detailed transfer-ware patterns in high quality pottery/crockery. Non smoking home.
