925 is sterling silver and can have a gold plating. 950 is also a higher content of sterling silver. I think if it reads 950 P or Pt then it is platinum.

@arechiga16 So how come they stamped 828 as well which means 82.8% pure. Do you see it? I believe gold can have 2 stamps. One determines whether it’s silver or platinum (925 or 950). The other determines gold purity. Am I right?

It is possible especially if it’s a two tone.

@gabiofthegabs My son read 950 to me so he’s wrong then. It is indeed sterling silver and colored. Thank you for your help! That means I will have to adjust down the price because 925 costs less than 950. Can I ask you to ID the teddy bear gold necklace stamp for me? It’s so small I cannot read it. I really appreciate it.

@christurry10337 Hey Christopher thanks for the help. I understand the 925 stamp and its much lower value but what I am not sure of is the 828 stamp in addition to the 925. I get several different definitions on the internet. And if it’s 2 tone, does it mean the 925 depicts silver and the 828 depicts gold? How do you determine the value of its 2 tone? No one seems to have a clear explanation. I am still researching and getting different answers with a wide range of value for this piece.

daotran127
@christurry10337 So then what does the 828 stamp mean then? 82.8% gold content or is that just a batch number? I get different answers while researching on the net so I am super confused. And then the 18kt stamp throws me off too because to me, 18kt is .750 which means 75% gold content. There are so many stamps here.

daotran127
@christurry10337 Ah got it! That’s why you valued it at $200 because it’s silver with gold plated. Not 75% not 82.8% pure gold.

@apesoup21 I believe herringbones are all hollow else they would cost an arm and a leg if they were not. Plus they would weigh significantly more if they were filled solid. Hollow isn’t even described as a specification in the many herringbone listings I’ve seen. Does that answer your question?

Good morning. This is just an opening bid. Please let me know what you can do for us, and we will purchase much more in March. BTW, I thoroughly enjoyed our conversation yesterday. Maximilian

@sybaritica Hi Maximilian! Sorry for delay. I had a super busy Monday. To answer your question, I'm pretty firm on the price due to high rate on this platform and this piece quality so for me to only get $200 for this stunning piece, I think it's already a great deal. A lot of my gold that have been sold in the past were priced higher than what most were willing to pay but they eventually buy anyway because those buyers knew the quality and value of all my pieces. Hope that helps.
