charming edition of a popular Victorian tale entitled, 'The Vicar Of Wakefield' by Oliver Goldsmith, (1728–1774) and published by Thomas Y. Crowell Company, New York. This copy features many black and white illustrations throughout the book, although there is no mention of the artist. The book is undated but likely published between 1890 - 1910. This edition includes the preface by Austin Dobson. This hardcover book features decorative floral pretty cover and designs on the spine. The overall condition is fair, although there is wear to the covers, cracking of spine, writing in pen and discoloration and spots, and measures; approximately 5x7" overall very aged.
