1918 1919 Antique Art Nouveau Jemco Silver Frame and Lucite Leather Handbag

This beautiful antique reptile embossed dark brown leather handbag was made around 1918 - 1919. The silver plated art nouveau metal hinged frame has a floral motif and opens with a metal pull tab and marbled lucite clasp. The edges are trimmed with leather whip stitches and soft tan suede lines the interior. There are two interior slip pockets - one holds the original vanity mirror. I believe this is a Jemco frame. The frame isn’t signed. However, there are three patent dates . LABEL Patent: 1915 1917 1918 MEASUREMENTS length 8.5” height 6.5” depth 5.5” drop 3.25” EXCELLENT CONDITION A few of the decorative stitches along the edges are broken however they have been treated to prevent additional damage. The frame has a natural patina typical of age and the interior mirror also shows it’s age. The lining is flawless and there is no damage affecting use.
