* This is gorgeous sugar bowl made of Blue Opalescent Lusterware made in Japan in the 1920s. This is fine china which is hand glazed and fired to give this china iconic iridescence. It has no cracks or chips. It does show some wear reflective of being 100 years old. It makes a lovely house Decoration and is highly collectible. All small
The glazes have some minor variations or imperfections from manufacture and the blue on them is slightly different. The inside of the sugar bowl is white.
* Japan began producing Lusterware china from the early 1900s to the 1940s. These pieces have become very collectible. They feature Art Nouveau designs, sumptuous colors and incredible glowing iridescence. Many WW2 veterans were so enamored of Lusterware that they purchased it to take with them when returning home.
