1920s/20s drop-waist blue burnout velvet flapper dress w large jeweled sash belt

this is a stunning piece from the early 20th century, more than likely from the 1920s as evidenced by the drop waist & burnout velvet. unfortunately, time has taken its toll on this dress. the black silk slip dress inside is pretty dry rotted, and the burnout velvet is not likely to withstand another wear. the velvet has faded a bit, mostly at the shoulders, and the underarm have ripped (see photos). the black silk sleeves also have some holes. this would be stunning on a mannequin, or you could use it as a pattern. this is truly one of my all time favorite pieces but it has just gone untouched in storage for too long to justify keeping it. this is a larger size, about 48 chest and 40 waist. from about 1910s-20s.
