A real treasure! This is an alligator handbag by one of the top purse designers of the past - Rosenfeld. Harry Rosenfeld was an American designer active from the 1930s into the '70s. His designs were made by several different manufacturers. The bags were sold at high-end department stores and at Harry Rosenfeld Handbags, a shop on Madison Avenue in New York City. This is a sweet bag in a medium size and unusual clam shell shape, with a fantastic bakelite clasp and thick, buttery soft leather interior. There are Three inside pockets! It is in good condition with expected wear along some of the creases and edges. The leather is strong and there is no flaking or powdery residue. The bakalite clasp in in very good condition without chips or scratches. The interior is clean. Handles have some splits and could use some reinforcement. This is a great bag to add to your vintage purse collection.
