1933 LIBBY SILHOUETTE Cat Goblet / Ultra Rare Art Deco Crystal / A Few Scratches

Libby didn’t always produce inexpensive glassware for everyday use. In its early years, they were known for high-end glass and crystal which is now housed in many museums as examples of the finest in American glassmaking. In 1933, Libby introduced its popular Silhouette series which featured various animals as the stem of the glass. Most examples you see are of the opalescent animals as stems. This crystal water glass features a rare black cat stem - it is very Art Deco-Egyptian Revival. It measures 7 inches tall by 3 inches wide and has the old Libby logo acid etched on the bottom. There are a few light scratches (see photo) but no chips or cracks.
