1940s 50s Navy Pleated Flat Bonnet/ Half Cap

This navy pleated ribbon half hat/cap has a unique and well made structure. The oval/ bean-shaped inner wire forms the cap to the crown of the head. This wire could be shaped outward or inward and is one-size fits all. The style is reminiscent of some simpler, less showy designs from the late 1800's or early 20th century. Vintage, well loved and cared for. Minor flaws are reflected in price: the velvet ribbon seen w/ a bow could use tacking down to reattach it. The original netting has mostly detached/ disintegrated over time (common w/ hats this age). please see pictures! much thanks
