1950s Abstract Print Corset Laced Halter Dress with Bolero Jacket, XS Sm 2 4

Stunning 1950s' cotton dress with bolero. Features a corset-laced bodice that can be laced in several ways. When the matching belt is worn, the laces can be tied in back, or wear without the belt and lace in front. There are halter-neck ties so you can adjust it as needed; seamed, fitted waist; lightly pleated, full skirt; and side metal zipper. The lightweight fabric has some stretch and is similar to today's stretch cottons. Shown with a semi-full crinoline; there's room for a fuller one if desired. The label is "Gwen Lee." This firm was apparently in business from the '40s through at least the '60s and was based in North Carolina. Pieces from it are rare. SIZE: Estimated "best fit" for a size 2, possibly down to a 0 or up to a 4. Shown on a size XS manni, and I did have to clip the back a little to fit. There's flexibility in the bodice due to the neck ties and the bodice laces. But check the waist measurement, as that is the most critical dimension on this dress. CONDITION: Excellent. All pieces, including the belt, have just been professionally dry cleaned. One or two light spots didn't come out, but they're virtually unnoticeable.
