Not copyrighted. Manual is in black/silver-lettered and decorated soft wraps in a two-post looseleaf format, 6 1/2" tall by 9 3/4" broad x 172 clean and well-illustrated pages, with hundreds of silhouettes of the aircraft of the day. A splendid Cold War version of this iconic guide. During World War II and then again in the Cold War the Ground Observers' Corps was formed of patriotic civilians to watch for and report on aircraft sighted overhead - at a time when Radar was still rudimentary and spotty in coverage - a splendid grouping and a fine guide. Represented are planes from light observation to fighters, interceptors, twin and multi-engine all the way to the eight-engine B-36D, even the early helicopters of the day.
