Dated 1958, this pharmacist's mortar & pestle tie bar & cufflinks set was created by Pioneer. The silver tone mortar and pestle symbol adorn a black 15/16-inch diameter background in a silver tone bezel on both, the pinch clip tie bar and the cufflinks. The set is a great accessory for a man, especially in the pharmaceutical industry. The black background consists of a lightly textured coating of black, with some of the silver setting showing through. The tie clip and cufflinks are stamped with “Pioneer” and engraved with “J&J” and “ ‘58” Set is pre-owned and in very good condition.
● The mortar and pestle date back to 1759. The mortar and pestle are traditional tools used in the compounding of medications by apothecaries. They are used in the grinding and trituration of different pharmaceutical ingredients in extemporaneous preparations. The mortar-and-pestle pharmacy logo is still used in Scotland and the United States.
● You will receive your cufflinks and tie bar set in a velvet padded gift box, and shipped in a USPS small Priority box.
