1960’s Beaded Wool Sleeveless Maxi Dress. By BANFF: If you know, you know 😉 This dress is just spectacular, and exudes Glamorous, Old Hollywood Style. There are very few of these floating around anymore, particularly in this pristine condition. The dress has some weight to it due to the extensive hand beading (yes, all the bead work was done by hand!) on front, sides and back. The beading is artfully sewn in a leaf and vine design, trailing up the length of the dress. There is a lace insert in the center of the bodice that snaps in with metal snaps (see last photo). I can imagine someone ⭐️rocking⭐️ this dress by removing the snaps and wearing without the lace insert, for a super low-cut, killer look. (Kudos to Jenna Lyons for bringing this look into vogue!). Zips up the back (metal Arrow zipper) and it really hugs your curves. It has a Size 8 label, but by today’s standards it is a Size 2. My dress form wears a Size 2 or an Extra Small perfectly. This is snug on her, but it is meant to be so. Measures 16-17” underarm to underarm, 13” across the waist, and 16-17” across the hips. There is a 15” slit on the left side of the dress. 55.5” long. Fully lined. Made in The British Crown Colony of Hong Kong, of 100% Virgin Wool. Just so incredibly sexy and classy. If it still fit me, I would definitely keep it! No missing beads or other flaws.
