1960's Italian Cut Glass Silver-Footed Cake Stand

With a ribbed thumbprint pattern this serving platter is from the 1960s and made of cut glass and silver. Crafted in Italy the cake stand was distributed by the Leonard Silver Manufacturing Company based in Massachusetts. It’s 11 inches wide & 3 inches tall. I don’t like to play by the rules and tend to use beautiful stands like this for things other than what they were meant for (baking cakes is not my thing). Like to rest my plants on to create a tiny herb garden on my kitchen counter. Live outside the box with this platter. Put a bowl in the center with some hummus in it and surround it with fresh pita. Yum and pretty. There is a tiny bit of rust around the head of the screw that holds the silver foot in place but that can be easily replaced. Some scratches on the underside of the glass that are frankly unnoticeable cause the cut glass sparkles & distracts the eye.
