Rare midcentury handbag from the legendary handbag designer Morris Moskowitz, known for his innovative use of textiles in purse designs and his "Mad Hatter" handbag line. Made for Saks Fifth Avenue, circa 1960s. Tan suede body with brown genuine alligator trim and brass accents. Gold-tone hardware. Front flap with snap closure. Beige faille lining. Interior zipper pocket with monogram pull. Iconic "MM" logo imprinted in gold on pocket. Detachable non-adjustable alligator hide shoulder strap converts handbag from shoulder bag to large clutch. Very good vintage condition. No holes or odors. Saks Fifth Avenue label included. Pink nailpolish mark on lining near bottom.
