1960s Runne Tennesmed Zodiac Pewter Pendant Necklace (Virgo, Swedish, Modernist)

Here’s one of Tennesmed’s iconic 1960s pewter pendants. R. Tennesmed was a 20th century Swedish designer who worked primarily in pewter. (In fact, he actually changed his name to “Tennesmed” which translates to “pewtersmith.”) Tennesmed’s pieces used many traditional Swedish images and motifs, rendered with a modernistic viewpoint. This Swedish maiden (“Jungfrun”) is the symbol for Virgo. Measurements: 2 x 2 inches Condition: This piece is in very good vintage condition. Some of the irregularities are part of the design, and there are also signs of use and wear. This piece has been lightly cleaned with a soft cloth. The chain is not the original.
