Vintage piece of Sterling Silver jewelry by jeweler/silversmith James Coull of Glasgow and Edinburgh, Scotland. The brooch features an interlaced Maltese/ Celtic Cross with four polished cabochon agate stones, which are native to Scotland. Perfect for a scarf, shawl, arisaid or kilt. Comes in a new jewelry box, great for gifting or for storage.
On the reverse side it is stamped "Made in Scotland" and with his mark "JC" and hallmarks (the JC stamp indicates that this was his Glasgow mark.) He was in business from the 1950s – 1982.
