1960s Whiting & Davis Red Black Mesh Shoulder Bag

Unusual black & red "Tortoise" mesh made with large enameled metal octagons from the 1960s. Purse is a shoulder bag with a fancy gold chain made of twisted and textured links. Chic updated look for Whiting & Davis. Brushed gold frame closes with ball clasp and inside is stamped on both sides with the Whiting & Davis logo as well as “Made in U.S.A.” There is also a ‘Trade Mark Registered’ Whiting & Davis cloth label sewn into the side of the lining. The satin lining is an elegant warm camel color with a small pocket for a mirror. The inside of the pocket has an old Marshal Field’s sticker with some code numbers. Size: Fairly large for a mesh bag measuring 9 1/2” long x 6 3/4” across the bottom. Chain drop: 17 3/4” Condition: There is no damage, lovely condition. Must have only been used only on special occasions.
