1964 MARY POPPINS HALF SHEET / Poor Quality / Wrinkles, Tears / Original Release

Although this example of a “Mary Poppins” half sheet poster is in poor condition, finding any advertising from the original 1964 release of this Disney classic is a rare occurrence. Disney re-released this movie several times and most of the posters & lobby cards you see are from those re-releases. You can tell this is an original 1964 poster by two methods - re-release posters say ‘Re-released by BUENA VISTA…’ at the bottom instead of ‘Released by BUENA VISTA…’ and the NSS number in the bottom right corner won’t say 69/249. This half sheet has lived a lot in the last 61 years. It has creases throughout, most noticeable in the blue areas behind the title. There are two tears on the right side that have been repaired with tape that has yellowed with age. In its favor, there are no pinholes or water damage and it has never been folded.
