An Iconic Edwardian inspired highly detailed & expertly tailored warm winter wool tweed coat w/ real mouton fur collar by Daniel Hector Paris for Jeune Couture a division of Kinetic International
Beauutiful Donegal tweed fabric of the highest quality expertly handled with many delightful difficult to make & impressive features: the pleated skirt, belt across the back, amazing looking giant functional pockets, dense & cosy mouton collar which is real sheep fur that has been dyed dark rich brown to compliment the tweed, rich brown satin lining. # sizes of buttons w/ extras sewn near inside hemline.
Designer’s label is sewn into back neckline & a size tag says 13/14 which is vintage sizing.
This is much smaller than a modern size 14 so be sure to go by measurements. I'm a size 4/6 in modern sizing & it fits me - so I think is a comparable a contemporary size 6:
Measurements:
Shoulders: 16.5”
Bust 18” flat x 2 = 36”
Waist: 17” flat x 2 = 34”
Hips: 20” flat x 2 = 40” measured just under the pocket flaps
Below this pleases are released & skirt is full sloping outward to the hemline
Sleeves: Underarm to cuff is 15”
Sleeve measured from sleeve inset at shoulder seam along top of sleeve to cuff is 23”
Total Length of coat is 46.5” measured from nape of neck to hem.
Daniel Hector designed gorgeous women’s clothing in the 60’s & 70’s that was often featured in Paris Vogue layouts. He is credited in France for inventing ready-to-wear.

Please note: This coat is extremely well made. I ran out of space in the listing, but need to state the condition is excellent & it is clean & ready to wear. The only flaw is a on the lining of the L armhole where there is a spilt in the fabric of the lining - see photo under photo of label. This can easily be repaired. It does not show when coat is worn & is a common occurrence with vintage coats.

Coat is priced accordingly. And I am looking into having the split in lining repaired. Remember, this is a couture item & is 40 yrs old. it is in remarkable condition for its age! Just beautiful! Feel free to ask questions!

Hi! Is the fur collar black or brown? Thanks!
cocoviolette
I've always thought of it as black!

Hello, I'm not sure what you want to depict in the 10th photo. Can you explain?
cocoviolette
Yes, there is a button and buttonhole under the fur collar that holds collar in place ( fine tailoring) proper alignment. When fastened it is backwards with button inside (that is confusing in photo. - sorry!) The designer is well known for his incredible couture tailoring and touches such as this - his father ran a couture men's tailoring atelier & he learned working there. His work is beautiful! In photo the button is to inside - & thanks for asking! U R looking very closely!
