These dishes were made for the Navy mess halls and later for use in a restaurant or hotel! Could you imagine actually being served coffee at a restaurant in one of these? They have a thick blue band and a thinner one underneath. Pyrex is a brand introduced by Corning Inc. In 1915 a line of clear borosilicate glass whose adaption to heat made it perfect for kitchen use. Though borosilicate was first created in 1893, by a German chemist, it was Pyrex 22 years later during WW1, which was the first American company to manufacture the glass for household use.
The bottom of the dishes read Pyrex Tableware By Corning Made In the USA

It measures approx. 2 1/2 inches tall and approx. 3 3/4 inches across the top. 1 7/8 inches across the base
