1979 AMF HARLEY LEATHER VEST, BLACK ZIP-UP SIZE 34 CLASSIC LEATHER VEST

In 1979 there was no H.O.G. Group, Harley Barbies or Ladies pink H-D anything. There were “Leathers” and they were in black and made mostly for men! In 1979 we went to Daytona for the first time. The chopper rode in the back of my 1977 El Camino. Before leaving Erie, we went to the Harley shop and bought a black leather vest for each of us, and tickets for seats in Daytona Hog Heaven. My vest was a men's size 34. Fast forward 45 years later, I am going to pass along this wonderful vest to a new owner. It is in excellent vintage condition, no tears, rips or even any wear. At the races we commented on all the “older” Harley people that were there. When we finally got back to Daytona in 1985, we were “them”. This great vintage vest has a (Talon) zipper front closing and two front pockets. It measures 12” shoulder to shoulder, 16” armpit to armpit, 12” armpit to hem, and 23” neck to hem. It is a real classic “black leather vest”, and the leather is as supple and soft as it was then. I am including the tiny Harley #1 pin that has been on the vest for 45 years.
