"Our Bodies, Ourselves": A Book By and For Women, The Third Edition Revised and Expanded (1979) The founders invite more women to contribute their expertise and experience and publish a major revision of the book, with new content and new topics. As with the earlier edition, the book became a bestseller and was recognized by the American Library Association’s Young Adult Service Division as one of the best books of the decade. The book put women’s health in a radically new political and social context. 5000 printed copies were distributed by hand at workshops and among friends and the book quickly became an underground success. The Fifth Edition "The New "Our Bodies, Ourselves" (1984) was completely rewritten, the 1984 edition expands to 647 pages (from 383) and includes new chapters on body image, psychotherapy, women growing older, new reproductive technologies, and environmental and occupational health. These two editions of "Our Bodies, Ourselves" are preowned and in good condition. One is a 2nd edition revised and expanded in 1979. As I used these volumes extensively for teaching purposes, my name is on the outside of the 1976 edition and on the inside cover of the 1984 edition. Name is also faded along the outside pages of each volume, along the side of the book. The pages of the 19769volume are yellowing from age. All pages are present and intact. Non-smoking, No pets.
