This 1980s Coach saddle bag has its Creed #575-4101 stamped directly into the leather inside the bag, but has no Coach tag. It states: "This is a Coach bag. It is made out of a completely natural glove tanned cowhide. The scars, scratches, veins and wrinkles are natural markings characteristic of full-grain leathers. Made in New York City, U.S.A. No. 575-4101." The reddish-brown mahogany leather saddle or messenger bag has an adjustable cross-body / shoulder strap. The bag is medium sized, unlined, with a mark on the front from a nametag sticker that may disappear with leather conditioner; the strap has marks and slight curls at either end reflecting long-time buckle use at a set length. Otherwise, the bag is clean, has no stains, scrapes or cracks inside or out and reflects normal use with good care by a single owner. The leather is thick and creamy; it has been maintained with leather conditioner and is in very good condition for its age, after 30 years unused. The brass hardware has good patina. The flap is full-size so it can safely be used unbuckled with the bottom part of the strap tucked into a holder slot under the flap, or it can be buckled for security. There is one main central compartment, one envelope-style pocket plus one zippered pocket. Size: 8" tall x 10-1/2" wide x 2-1/2" deep at the base. The strap is 49" long with 7 holes on either end at 1" intervals (starting 3" from the end).
