1980's Italian Scavo Style Blown Glass Vase with patinated bronze Top Rim
This is a lovely 1980's Italian Scavo Style Blown Glass Vase with a patinated bronze Top Rim. Scavo (which means "excavated" in Italian) is a mixture of several powders (carbonates nitrates, talc, silica, etc.) that is scattered onto the glass surface During the firing process which creates textures like those found in archaeological excavations and give the vase an appearance of an ancient Roman archeological find.
This vase has a look of sugar coating or snow and was most likely made in the Seguso Vetri d'Arte factory in Murano, Venice, Italy which is the leading Scavo glass maker in the world.
The vase measures approximately 6" high by 5.5" across and is in excellent vintage condition.
