* 19th Century French Silver Plate 8" Dinner Spoon. Hallmark shows Maker Henri de Ruolz. The Pattern is Baguette. * This Spoon was made in the late 19th Century by Henri de Ruolz (Henri Catherine Camille Comte de Ruolz-Montchal) who was a French composer and chemist, born in Paris on March 5, 1808 and died at Neuilly-sur-Seine on September 30, 1887. He invented a gilding process without the use of mercury, a process used in jewelery and tableware. The "Ruoltz” was used for the manufacture of cutlery. * The Spoon is in very good condition with minor scratches and tarnish as a result of age and normal use. It has an engraved monogram of “T.D.” in the back of the handle. * The Spoon measures 8” Length x 1 3/4” Width. It weighs 2.39 ounces or 82 grams.
