This late 19th Century Limoges 9" plate was commissioned by Davis Collamore & Co. (established in 1842, was a prestigious NYC importer of porcelain and glass that was a rival of Tiffany & Co.). It is exquisitely hand painted with a floral motif and heavy gold trim in the inner center, around the rim and in the back.
Antique Limoges porcelain was made by various companies in Limoges, France. The city is known as the porcelain capital of the world, because it is the only place in the world where the clay "Kaolin", the pure white translucent clay used in all Limoges items, can be found.
