J.G. Durand is a glass and crystal company that was founded in 1927 near the French village of Arques. Durand is now part of Arc-International whose brands also include Cristal d’Arques, Longchamp, Luminarc and Arcoroc. Until recently, most of their stemware like these champagne flutes contained 24% lead. Most experts agree that the brief use of leaded crystal is perfectly safe. The pattern of these elegant glasses is called Capella. The top of the bowl is smooth but the lower part near the stem is dazzlingly faceted. There is also a dramatic rim of gold to top off these magnificent champagne flutes. They measure 8.5 inches tall and 2.75 inches at the base. They are unused and still have the J.G. Durand label and UPC labels as well.
