2 Signed and numbered Dick Brown Amish prints
Dick Brown started selling his photographs in 1967 at the Central Pennsylvania Festival of the Arts. Brown, a Bellefonte native, is the only artist to have been selected to participate in every Central Pennsylvania Festival of the Arts since its inception.
His work has long focused on the local Amish community, which he has been a peripheral part of for decades.
Both of these prints look like paintings and I thought that they were when I picked them up. Brown did at one time do some painting on his prints but I am not sure that is the case with these prints.
Both are matted, signed and number limited editions and would be great for the collector.
Both frames show very minor wear but still look great.
#1 Quilts on a barn: Numbered 178/250 and has a lovely sunset and a horse drawn carriage.
#2 Boy sitting on a mailbox Numbered 120/250 and has turkeys and the boy is reading a newspaper. This one may be painting on a print because I don't think that the 2 turkeys would pose that well for a photo!
The comps on these is hard to estimate because there are so few listed. Of the ones listed I think these 2 are some of the best I have seen.
Feel free to make an offer but don't get crazy.
