The tradition of official White House Christmas ornaments began in 1981. Each piece honors a significant time in the White House or a different U.S. president. This is an official 2005 White House Historical Association Ornament. It honors the 20th President of the United States - James A Garfield. Decorative wreath design is derived from art objects found at the Garfield home in Mentor, Ohio and the gift box is decorated with Victorian wallpaper found in the home.
