The vintage 1950s Navy Blue Faille Pleated Top Handle Handbag is a spectacular find! Stylish bell shaped bag is crafted in navy blue faille fabric with beautiful pleated details! Made in the USA, this beautiful bag features a curved metal frame wrapped in fabric with brass tall button lift clasp. Fabrics like faille were introduced as bag coverings in the 1940s because of war time shortages. Faille is a type of cloth, usually silk, with flat ribs and mainly used in the 19th century. Front and back feature a dramatic inverted "V" made with pleats. Roomy interior is lined with matching navy faille fabric, zippered and slip pocket.
