Set of 3 (Three) Franciscan Desert Rose 8” Crescent Salad Plates with Gladding McBean backstamp. This is the backstamp used on Franciscan Desert Rose. Dishes with this backstamp were made in California from 1953-1958 and these are in MINT CONDITION. The Desert Rose Pattern by Franciscan was the first manufactured, in late 1941. It is the best-selling American Dinnerware pattern in American history. It was used by many celebrities and seen on many television programs and magazines, throughout the culture. Lucy and Desi Arnaz first bought the new pattern when it originated in 1941. First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy brought a very large collection for use in the White House. It was much loved and highly sought through the years, and graced many tables across America. These pieces are the earliest of the pattern are in MINT condition. Exceptional pieces which should be appreciated as such.

simplysmashink @ssharonbodin1 Cookie Jar is $170, I am not sure which glasses but usually they’re $20 each and I have a full inventory of many different ones, and the little flower is a Butter Pat and goes for $20 each. I have probably every piece of Franciscan Desert Rose and Apple. I have a hard time corresponding on here for some reason.

cheryldraeger @simplysmashink I look at grandmas set and a number of feelings come over me. I feal a sense of comfort and sadness. When I was small I use to set the table doe my grandmother's big dinners. she had a Desert Rose set. she had a very big walnut dining room table with a long long hutch full of these dishes. she would hand me a dish or two at a time and show me how to set the table. she was fussy where the silverware was placed.

cheryldraeger The reason why I collect Desert rose is in memory of my beautiful grandmother who use to feed the whole family on these dishes. I was pretty close to her. she died when I was holding her hand.
