About the brand
Produced by Joseph H. Myer & Bros. in Brooklyn, New York, beginning in 1911. Richelieu, Inc. was formed through a merger with Heller-Deltah Company, the maker of Deltah Pearls, in 1933, according to an article in the New York Times. However, Joseph H. Meyer & Bros. was still mentioned in some advertising pieces as the maker of Richelieu jewelry in the 1940s.
The D. Lisner Company merged with Richelieu in the late 1970s. By 1979, the Lisner-Richelieu Company became part of Victoria & Co., which also owned Napier and Givenchy at the time. As of 2003, a representative of Victoria & Co. confirmed that the Richelieu brand name was no longer in use.
