missrochelles I completely agree!!! Dancing Ballet gave me such a low self esteem. No girl or woman should have to feel "lesser than!" It's so sad we are made to made to feel that we aren't beautiful as we are. We waste years putting ourselves down!! You go girl!!! Birth control & babies change our bodies & just hormones but its sad we can't be happy with ourselves!! 😣😣😊😊😊😍😍😍👯👯👯💃💃💃👏👏👏💁💁💁

sassysuzzy YES, YES & YES!! As a Psychotherapist who has worked with so many girls & women, I can testify to the heartache & damage our culture causes when we start to believe we should be a 0! It becomes an obsession that robs people & their Families of their lives. Don't waste your life worrying about your size. Focus on being healthy, loving yourself & others and knowing that you are beautifully created. Thanks for posting this. The message cannot be given enough. Magazines & TV Ads send thousands of messages a day telling girls/women we are supposed to look like the Ad, when those Ads are airbrushed, computerized images and Anorexia/ Bulimia is rampant among models. It is almost a MUST if you are going to be in the modeling world or "successful Ballerina!" How do I know? Because I've treated so many of them!! My youngest client was 7 yrs old who was skinny as a rail & only allowed herself one bite of what was put on her plate. All this suffering because someone on the playground told her she had fat thighs!!! These messages get passed down earlier & earlier as little girls hear their Mom's talk about dieting & their big butt or any one of numerous complaints about their bodies! Please if any of you have Daughters be very aware that EVERYTHING YOU SAY ABOUT BODY IMAGE BECOMES A RECORDING IN THEIR BRAIN FOREVER! Think of all the messages you've received in your lifetime about body image. Either thru ads, commercials or some subtle or thoughtless comment. It's not by accident that you believe what you believe about your body! IF YOU ARENT ACCEPTING OF WHO YOU ARE & OF YOUR BODY, YOUR DAUGHTER WILL PICK THAT UP. SHE WILL MODEL YOUR THOUGHTS & BEHAVIOR OF SELF LOATHING! It can be a seemingly innocent comment that starts this ball rolling. Don't allow your husband, boyfriend or anyone else to comment on your Child's body! Encourage healthy comments about their intelligence, their uniqueness, their personality, their ability, their character, their creativity, etc. This is who they are. Their Body can be taken away by disease, an accident, a comment, etc but their integrity, their loyalty, WHO THEY ARE CANNOT!! TEACH THEM WHO THEY ARE! Didn't mean to turn this into a blog:-( You can tell how passionate I am about this topic & if anything I've said helps one person then it was worth every second I spent writing it. jezebella72 @sassysuzzy @iheartpurple ladies I can tell you horror stories of being verbally abused by my own mother calling me names to her practicing to be a hairdresser on my head I looked like horchack from welcome back kotter in 2 nod grade & her idea of making me feel better was lets put a lil blush WHATTTT! Ohhhhh the names I can't even repeat them but 90% was weight & to be honest I look at pics I wasn't fat at all!!! Back then everyone was fidgets & I was tall so TALL = FAT! You should see what those tiny lil girls look like today that's my best revenge in my mind! But the yrs of self confidence I endured altered my life I def have body dis morphia. I have sliced diced over & over again & it was until I met a man that loved me & my body that when I finally felt beautiful & I think that I was/still so scared from that I prayed so hard when pregnant for my kids to just be decent human beings but pleaded to him to make them beautiful so they never had to feel the pain I did! He answered my prayers but I tell my kids atleast 15x a day how smart handsome beautiful & lucky I am to have perfect kids. And they are gorgeous both have been scouted by modeling agencies but they won't. If I ask my daughter what do you see when you look in the mirror she's says intelligence ok ... Do you think your pretty & she's say conceited but very humbly YEAH. I don't think I'm a VS runway model (Which is what everyone calls her Gisele lol) we don't us the word stupid moron retard if forbidden I'll say lil muddah fker b4 I say wtf are you stupid!! GIVE YOUR KIDS CONFIDENCE & they believe they can THEY WILL!!!!!!

dbarn @tammysbeachwear, sassysuzzy Well I hope you don't care but i will put my 2 cents worth in. I have been overweight all my life. I never remember being under 200 lbs. My maiden name was Tuten (pronounced TOO-ten) and I was called Two ton Tuten in school. Kids are cruel and the higher the school year the higher the hurt. i tried everything I new to ddo to lose weight eveb to the point of becoming bulemic. Buleimia was the only was I could get down too 185. at that point I literally made myself sick and realized what I was doing to my body and only by the grace of God was I able to break that cycle but as soon as I did, I balooned up to almost 300 los over the next 10 years. I married my high school sweetheart who loved me the way that I was and for who I was. Finally 11 years ago this weight issue caught up with my health and i had become a diabetic with high blood predure, sleep apnea, asthma and deep depresion. I had done everything within my will power shortr of becoming a bulemic again to try and lose the weight and couldn't . At this point i began researching gastirc Bypass. This was 11 years ago then it wasn't as widely done as it is now. Only through God opening doors was I able to step in and haave this surgery with insurance footing the bill becaue of my co-morbolities (sp?) Through the surgery I lost 130 lbss and all my issues were resolved (exept my depression which is a chemical depression -family heredity) I say all this to say I went from a size 24-26 dress size to and 8-10 and still feel bad about myself because of the extra skin I have. I traded one for the other. I;ve come to realize to that no mattert ehat you weigh society today says you need to lose 5-10 lbs. even if you are not- overeight. I still overweight at a size 10 because at one point I was a size 8 for about 3 years because I was sick due to marriage problems. No that we have mostly worked them out, I'm eating like I should and have put that weight back on and now wear a 10 and a M instead of an 8 and a S and there are times i feel lik,e a failure beause I've gained wieght and really struggle with that. My point is we need to learn to love and be content with who we are, where we are. Otherwise, you wil torment yourself to death and that is not what God intended. He made each of us in His image, and He knew each of us before we were born,,,and yet we are all beautifully and wonderfully made. PERIOD!
