missyrocketfire The spots are hardly noticeable. Not bigger than the end of my finger and not very deep but still there. It's so fun.

gayle01 Worked in vintage for years..it's probably cashmere wool blend.. I would say by looking the fur 90 percent sure mink..just because fox would probably be shedding by now..

missyrocketfire Wow that's awesome! Thank you so much! It is so soft! I have another mink piece that isn't nearly as soft and the color is much different but I'm guessing to it was more common on pieces like this. How would I know if it's shedding? It's never warn and keepers in a closet with cedar boards. @gayle01

gayle01 You would know if shedding pull on fur lightly & pieces would pull loose easily..or balding where it would start to separate..Run your hands over it. The top will be soft & underside will be a little rough.. That tells me mink..as for pricing with moth worm damage you are right on..mink is one of those furs that just holds up better the pelts were treated to hold moisture..when a pelt starts to dry out that's when shedding starts..never put in plastic..always air out to avoid old fur smell & always rotate how it's folded when stored to avoid creasing..don't hang on any hangers that are not reinforced to avoid sagging in shoulders.. This is 60 years old.. They always wore elbow gloves with these..rotate at least every couple of months..I just removed a collar from older coat..the fur was curly lamb with mink trim..from same era the lamb was so dry it was pulling apart at seams..but mink still has lots of life left..let me know if this helpful

missyrocketfire @thuhoai2013 so I just pulled it out of the closet to see there is a new moth pattern. I pictured them. I just moved to a new house and I think there are more bugs in the country. The length of the coat shoulder to hem is 36" the top of the shoulder to bottom of fur cuff is 18" this style is meant to be warn with gloves. See above comment thread for more info on the style. The chest measures 19". Please let me know if you have any more questions. Thank you for your interest.

christinebau289 I have the same Coat but Black with Creme Mink. Yes, it’s 1960’s Vintage and was my Grandmothers. These Coats were made very well. You really should charge more unless there’s damage. I can’t believe no one has bought this yet. Connect with Vintage lovers. I wouldn’t take less than $200 and that’s a steal. Especially if it’s Cashmere.
