I have noticed a LOT of fake hermes belts being described as authentic. I hate seeing people getting taken advantage of, so hopeful these pics will help. Everyone wants a good deal, but if you see a brand new belt set for $250-500 it's probably fake. Retail is apprx $850. With posh's fees the person is making only $200 on an $850 item?? Don't think so. Read below for some tips. I'm NOT a professional just tryna help.

frantastic2010 @686879af it doesn't come with those things in the picture and the markings on the leather are not right. It is a replica belt. If you search on posh you will see (I will tag you to one) they are called 1:1 replicas. No hermes belt comes with an orange card or those papers 😕

frantastic2010 @686879af I just looked and all the people with orange card ones are claiming they are "authentic". Trust me when I tell you they are not. The receipts are fake, the packaging is fake, girl...the whole thing is fake. I won't be home until later tonight, but I will make a listing for U to show u what u need to look for when it comes. U will need to put in a dispute to get ur money back, but I will show u what to photograph. If you see an orange card RUN 🏃 if you see little perforated cards with an H in a circle, RUN!! Most of the fakes will almost always be in a size 100 or 105. Also, when I was just looking I noticed you were asking a buyer of she would sell a belt for &200, that one was also fake. It is rare to find an authentic hermes belt on posh for less than $600. Do you have an hermes store near U?

frantastic2010 1. Hermes leather always has an indentation along the edge of the leather. The purse, bracelets, belts, etc. they have this indentation. On both sides. Hermes belts are always reversible and 2 colors. 2. The leather is very thin. Almost flimsy. If u have a hermes in ur area go in and feel a belt. Touch the quality of the leather. 3. If there is a ring, there is no separation. It is 1 solid ring. 4. Hermes belts, bags, etc do NOT come with orange cards or orange velvety pouches. Nor do they come with a 8 x 10 sized receipt in a plastic bag. The receipt comes in a small envelope and it will have the store location and number, SA name and client name. No exceptions.

There are a couple of people on here with pics that look legit, but the rest of their closet screams "fakes from NY", so I would stay away from those too. Do you know ur size? That's what I usually do,go and see what else they sell and most of it tons of other high-end items (brand new) that look like fake.Or one seller swears it's Authentic but she has 4 brand new Hermes belts which raises the red flag :( I will have to research on sizing,it's little confusing I am 26-27 size in jeans.

frantastic2010 @thepodium I I think 80 is just about your size. I'm an 85 or 90 and I wear a 29 in jeans. The belt appears to be authentic based on the pics but I wouldn't get it for $800. The 18k buckles cost a lot more, but if you don't need an 18k buckle you can get an entire belt kit brand new for about $850. The inscription on the top of the buckle looked uneven but it could have been the angle of the pic.

frantastic2010 @osanj no bother. It bely size would be a 95 or 100. It's tough with some of the ones on here because people take screen shots or steal pics from ebay. I recommend only buying via posh and ask them to write there name on a piece of paper next to the belt prior to purchase. :) I will look again tomorrow to see if there are any listings in ur price range.

frantastic2010 @lyzahgirl I believe you can find it with the 18k stamp. I'm not sure U can find it for &560. I don't own one and have never seen one, so I'm not sure. I'm more concerned cause the "hermes 18k" looks to be stamped at an angle. It could just be the photo tho. Also, the 1:1 (which she has a lot of in her closet) look very close to the real thing. I can only tell when I have them in my hand. Once u feel a real one U will know the difference. If posh is sending off pics to get the belt authenticated there is a chance they got it wrong.

0850 Thank you for trying to help unsuspecting customers from buying a fake. Poshmark needs to do more to weed out the many fakes being sold here (Hermes, LV, just to name two). As bad if not worse than Ebay. It gives the site a bad name.

elenav @frantastic2010 Thanks for posting this! It's incredible how many fakes are listed as authentic. Ladies, just because a bag has an AUTHENTICITY CARD and a SERIAL NUMBER doesn't mean it's not a FAKE. I worked for a lady that got into selling high end fakes and let me tell you, they all came with dust bags and "authenticity" cards and serial numbers, and this was about 10 years ago! They high end fakes are even more convincing now. Serial numbers (on LV's for example) tell you where it was made and where it came from, authenticators use it to verify that the info matches up.

frantastic2010 @pinkvogue have you ever had your waist measured for euro sizes? I'm guessing you would be a 95 in euro. Little thing about hermes, you can go in to the store and buy a new belt (no buckle) for about $450. You can only buy a buckle if you buy a belt with it. So if you see a buckle in good shape at a reasonable price grab it. Ok. Let me tag U on a few. A 90 could probably work too.

frantastic2010 @leslie_kim these aren't bracelets, they are all belts. On pic 1 I am showing that the leather should have an indentation along the edge. There are some fakes with indentations. When that is the case you have to look and feel the thickness of the belt. Hermes belts are thin and flimsy, but a very high quality leather. You know when you have one in your hands if you have ever felt one. The fakes can't duplicate the feel.

It isn't fair for people to get ripped off expecting the real deal when they only wanted the real deal. I've seen clic clac bracelets, bags , chanels, mcm all fakes trying to pass of as real.

I think a...it will make buyers feel safe and fun.If anyone really are into 100% authentic consigned new items Japan is the spot to go. obviously the trip is alot of money but since their yen is a lot higher to our dollar, they throw out hermes like old gum. frantastic2010 @kingromelus25 yep, pretty much the same. I float between a 85-95. I like to get the 95 and have 2 extra holes punched (for my tighter pants). But when I wear baggy jeans the 90's don't fit. Hermes leather is really delicate and if you make the belt too tight it will leave a crease in the back. So going up in size and adding extra holes is always best. They punch the holes for free at the boutique.

frantastic2010 @kingromelus25 for the most part, the belts are unisex. You can get a buckle that is bigger than the 32, but they don't look good in my opinion. There are women's belts that are thin, but I have only seen one on here. I can try and help you find one. 👍

I remember looking at the yellow a while back and I think her belt didn't have the correct indentation. Do you know your size?

frantastic2010 @ucitsme I think they try their best. The only reason I got pretty good at spotting the fakes was because I bought quite a few real ones and started really looking at the fine details. I think posh has a high volume of items coming in and can use the limited knowledge or experience they have. Most of the fakes sale for around $350, so they never get sent to posh. 😕

I wear a 29 in skinny jeans and I wear an 90 as my perfect belt size and I usually buy a 95 but I have to have two extra holes punched so I can also wear them with my baggy jeans. If I use a 90 on my baggy jeans it pulls a little. And you do NOT want it to pull. It will bend the belt and stretch the holes. 😣.

They are a good quality, but once you got it in your hands and compared it to the real deal you can tell the difference. If you don't have a real one to compare it to its tough.

The only way they will authenticate is if they are doing a repair to the belt. They no longer do minor repairs. They will send you to the cobbler on Sutter. If you ask them to add holes, they may tell you then. But it depends on what sales associate you get. 😕

frantastic2010 @pinkvogue sorry about the delay...crazy day at work. The other two are real, but VERY small. So you would only be able to wear them as midi-belts unless you have tiny hips. Also, you would have a rough time finding other straps because they old style used 2 prong hook like closures not the 1 stud they use now.

frantastic2010 @poshshop26 for the eBay one you should rely on seller ratings and really take a good look at the pics. On here, the quality of the other items in the seller closet can be a big clue to whether or not the item is fake. When sellers are selling other replica items it will bring the entire closet into question for me. 😕 But the belt should have similar markings as the cdc bracelet. You can google real vs fake cdc. I believe eBay may also have a tutorial on it.

frantastic2010 @white_angel017o shoot...I'm sorry. I didn't read it too closely the first time. I looked at it. It's not authentic. The font is too big and Hermes is generally a very soft leather. Also, the hardware would be a better quality. I've never seen a key holder like that, but that doesn't mean it didn't exist. If you google it you should be able to come up with images of it did exist. Hope that helps.

paulina_star @lyzahgirl sorry I was just reading this comment because I'm trying to explain to someone else that they bought a belt that is fake. If it has an 18k stamp it is 100% FAKE. I don't trust PM to authenticate it. Hermes does not stamp their buckles with 14k or 18k for that matter. Their buckles are gold plated and only have a little symbol on it to show if it was played with gold. The replicas from NY are so good you really have to know your stuff. Get your money back.

The belts that have the buckle attached don't come in reversible colors (for obvious reasons- lol) and you can have the same color on a Constance, but the leather grain would be different. Like one side smooth and the other side grainy, but the same color. You won't have one color with the same leather grain.

frantastic2010 @vonda1983 there is no such things as a Hermes outlet online. Around every two years the actual stores will have a "sample sell" where they sell some of the floor display inventory. But Hermes, Chanel, LV....they don't have outlets online. The pics are usually of real products, but that's not what you get. 🙁 they would destroy it before they would ever put things on "sale".

frantastic2010 @hrdrssr1 the second belt looks good as well and is newer. The first one is vintage and a midi belt. It is not going to fit through the belt holes. You can always buy another strap. It looks to be the 32mm. (Most thumbs are .5” wide and it looks like 2 thumbs could fit)

frantastic2010 @hrdrssr1 yes, they both look to be jeans size belts (the 32mm). Best way to see if the first one will fit is to measure a belt that fits you well to her measurements. I believe what she listed is the full length, not the hole distance.

frantastic2010 @abidiana if it’s a typical strap that does not have the buckle attached, they come with 3 holes. I usually add holes to my 95 that I can wear it with tighter jeans (90 is my best size). If I buy an 85, I can fit it on the last hole (which is a 90). The number is the hole in the middle in centimeters. Find a belt that fits you well and measure from the hole you use to the thing that goes in the hole. That’s your size.

I knew there was no way the quality of the leather would be that cheap. Never owned a Hermès belt but I have other designer belts and did not feel even close to the other ones I have. It’s a really nice replica for sure. But it’s not for me.

frantastic2010 @maaguirre0861 so for future reference, the Hermes strap are soft and flimsy. Almost like butter and really thin. Not as firm as the LV leather belts. When they are used they will often have a little notch in the middle from the pants belt loop. You can sometimes find cheap straps but the buckles can be pricey. What euro belt size do you wear? I’ll keep an eye open.

frantastic2010 @scelauro you have to look at how it’s engraved. Also, they are never stamped “24k”. Newer ones have the longer serial numbers on the back now. But the spacing is very even. Fake ones tend to be slanted.

frantastic2010 @scuaron I looked at it...it may be ok. If you buy it, take the buckle and add it to your real strap. The buckle won’t fit very well into the hole if it is fake. Also, measure the length of the belt. 105 is a popular “fake” size, but the belts typically aren’t 105cm.

frantastic2010 @ha111 shoot! I’m sorry, I thought I responded. Busy day at work. LV and Hermes run the same (euro sizing), but if you are a 0 an 85 should be too big. Measure a belt that fits you well from the hole you use to the thing that goes into the hole. But read the centimeters, not inches.

frantastic2010 @ha111 That’s your euro size. The belts are measured to the middle of 3 holes by increments of 5cm. So an 85 is 85cm to the middle hole. The first hole is 80 and the last hold is 90. If you are using the first hole in the lv belt, your size is 80, but you can also fit an 85 and a 75. Make sense?

frantastic2010 @meltidwell the width is 13, 24, 32, and 42 for the buckle belts. 32 is the one most people want and wear. They have them at the stores, you probably won’t see them online. If you go and talk to an SA they can help you buy or order one. Just develop a little relationship and they will take care of you. Not so much on the phone. To buy a buckle, you must buy a strap. So if you see 2 buckles you like, get both even if you are only getting 1 strap.

frantastic2010 @rimmeri the leather looks too think and the stamp on the buckle doesn’t look great either. Ask her to make a new listing showing a close up of the leather flat (so you can see the edge) as well and the stamp on the buckle. And the stamp on the back of the buckle.

lupi123 @frantastic2010 I purchase one In Tradesy, very used and the buckle pretty worn and paid $350.00, even in the condition was not cheap. I took it to the store and they sent it out was not charged a penny. They also let me know that it was real. Having a store near by helps... be careful.

frantastic2010 @lupi123 I absolutely agree!! The store change their policy every now and then regarding charging for repairs. It’s the easiest way to determine authenticity, but typically it takes them 1-2 weeks to get back to you with an estimate. With the posh 3 day rule it’s tough. 😒

Shame, anyone that knows Hermès will know they don’t make belts like that. They will typically not have their hallmark “all in your face” like LV or Fendi, etc. their things are subtle. Fancy. lol
