weldtex89 @chloejoy15 Sure :) For starters, you get out what you put in. The more time and energy you spend sharing your own listings, sharing other poshers' listings (as many diff poshers as possible), following people and growing your own followers, and generally being active on the site, the more exposure (and potential sales!) you'll get.Provide excellent customer service- respond & ship quickly, and be flexible with prices. Good luck!

Generally how do you set your initial prices and how much / when do you decide to drop them? With so many listings in guessing you have a general rule of thumb for your closet

weldtex89 @chloejoy15 I set my prices at fair market value. No matter what the item is, you can usually find identical items on posh (filter availability to "search all items", save them in your likes for reference). that'll tell you the asking price range, and what you can realistically expect to get. Set initial list prices higher, so you have room to negotiate down and you can drop the price several times.

weldtex89 @chloejoy15 (contd) the best time drop prices is Friday bc that's when people get paid :) I usually drop my prices $5 at a time (up to $50), $10 at a time ($50-100), $20 at a time ($100-200). You have to drop the price at least 10% for posh to notify the people who liked it

weldtex89 @chloejoy15 (contd) your bottom line is up to you- it'll depend how much you paid (ALWAYS make SOMETHING) and what profit margin you're comfortable with. It's really helpful to get a little notebook/journal for bookkeeping. Keep a log of new inventory as you get it (date, item, price) and your sales so you can keep track of your expenses, earnings and profit. I WISH I woulda done that in the beginning- I just got the idea 4mos ago)

weldtex89 @vixen69baby it was so awesome and informative! There were lots of workshops to help ladies take their businesses to the next level. The overall energy was 150% positive, nothing but love and empowerment (unlike any gathering of females I've seen personally lol). Everyone, even Poshmark founder/CEO, was unbelievably kind and down to earth. It was a priceless experience for sure. :) I'll def be back next year.

lindi2853 Love your closet. I am new to this and have become obsessed. I have 2 questions for you. Can I delete from my likes. I have way too many in there. And most importantly. I sold a sweatshirt that was in good shape. Not new and did not represent as new. No rips or stains I sold it for 9. Paid about 30 new. The feedback was less than stellar. All my items are from my closet. How do I avoid this in the future.

weldtex89 @lindi2853 hi, thank you! :) first, you can easily delete from your likes by clicking the "like" button/red heart icon again. Second, unfortunately there isn't much recourse for disputing feedback thru poshmark. You can comment on the item listing, tag the buyer and politely ask to explain their rating. Be as honest and descriptive as possible, just like you were with me. Maybe something like "the item was in generally good condition, as described. Are you sure it deserved this rating?"

weldtex89 @lindi2853 (contd) sometimes buyers honestly do make mistakes and will edit their rating. But some buyers, unfortunately, just aren't very nice and won't respond or fix it. Just keep doing excellent business and eventually the bad ratings will be so outnumbered by the good ones, they won't even matter. :) personally, I have like 350 ratings and 4.9 stars. Well over 300 are 5 stars, but there's a couple (unjustified IMO) 1 and 2-star ratings in there too.

westcoastchic @weldtex89 Hey Dallas. I wanted to let you know that I'm going to Poshfest. My husband has a credit on southwest and travel must be completed by October 12th, so I'm using it. Also, I was thinking, I can take a vacation the week of Halloween and maybe do a posh-n-sip Sac here at my house with a Halloween theme? As long as we keep the limit low, I have a small house. (20 people?) But then it's just drinks and horsd'oeuvres (which I love making)

September is going to be crazy for me too because my husband is starting a new job and has to go away for training which means I have to beg my boss to let me work while my kids are in school instead of at night. Ok. I'll first find out if I can take my vacay that week.

weldtex89 @ellissusan971 once i got my closet up and running, i discovered that poshmark is like many things in life: you get out what you put in. 😊 the more time you dedicate to in-app hustling (increasing your followers, sharing your listings, sharing others' listings, and engaging with the posh community), the more time you spend analyzing market trends (and fashion trends!), and the more inventory you can source to stock your closet, the more successful you'll be!

weldtex89 @ellissusan971 ty! 💕 I source my inventory from a variety of places. A few items were bought at or near wholesale price from the manufacturers (NWT Retail items), but most of it was bought 2nd hand. I'm fortunate to have a ton of 2nd hand stores nearby, including local high-end consignment shops that buy, sell and trade designer labels (😍!!!). Some are gifted or consigned from friends, some are from my personal collection, some are re-poshes.
