closetenvy2 @cam182 It's sterling silver plated. Basically it's copper on the inside with sterling silver electroplating on the outside. I have some sterling plated jewelry. As long as you keep it dry, store in a cool place and wipe sweater, etc. off, it shouldn't eat the layer off for a long time. So, you shouldn't have any issues. It won't last forever, but mine are well over a year old and still fine.
