Thanks for the listing. A lot of gals don't even know they are selling KVD fakes now, I was just discussing this issue on a listing for Mac fakes. It's getting ridiculous the amount of new brands being counterfeited. Its shameful these people sell fakes with potentially dangerous chemicals and harmful effects with no regard for others

@macaddicton I so agree. I looked up some of the fake sites and almost all the KVDs are sold out on all of them. It's sick. Mac, KVD, UD, too faced and not just palettes. Greedy sick people. It's punishable by law!! Some are giving people eye infections from the junk they use to make it.

@happyallthetime , I know right. Even Lime Crime, Ben Nye powder, its ridiculous anymore and so dangerous. I always knew about fake Mac because I'm a collector, but its out of hand. How these sites/ manufacturers get away with this is beyond me

@macaddicton yes I collect and do makeup so I know my stuff pretty good. Sounds like you do too. It's the people just getting into makeup that are getting scammed and I feel so bad for them. I have a lot of people ask me about listings and I have a great partner who is helping me catch them too. I want posh to be the one place we don't have to be scared of scams.

I'm trying to get a fake to do vs. so people can really spot differences cause it's never been done on a KVD but it takes for ever to ship. If I have to waist money on a fake to help I'm all for it. They are cheap that's why it's sick even at a discount they are making like $20 a palette maybe more.

@pilotkelson1056 , I know, I couldn't believe it either. The new fakes are expanding at an alarming rate, they are even putting fake batch numbers on stuff. Its disgusting. And even worse the low life people reselling a $10 counterfeited palette as Authentic and endangering peoples health. I hope if they decide to bring it they are ready for a felony charge and if posh ends up in trouble over it too they are in even more trouble cause posh could sue the if they get fined too.

saying she sold her fake stuff when I didn't even see the girls post till someone else tagged the girl in my post way after I posted it and then I checked it out. The girl didn't see my post till after she complained. Someone saw it and tagged her in my post. Sad to commit a crime then blame others.

@andreamay102971 once you receive don't rate your buyer right away but you need it checked by MAC. Also if it's real you don't want to hold up their money so you will need to go quickly to the nearest MAC counter. You can look up the closest one on google. Please keep me informed hun. I'll help you any way I can! If it's fake report to the site for a full refund. They may send you free postage to send it back. This has to stop. It could be ligit though so don't stress it yet.

I purchased a fake pallet on merc. Everything was exactly the same except for one shade.. The shade ludwin was spelled luowin. The color swatches looked the same except for laetus.. It wasn't the banana looking shade. As far as the box, serial number, and cover it all matched up.

@ness5805 yes it's hard to spot sometimes. It can be the littlest thing but it will be off (M) is the worst for fakes! So is e bay anymore. It's like no one cares about anybody these days and it's all greed even with the sites. They are still making money so why do they care but it could come back on them cause it's a crime and I know posh % is high but I feel like they care a bit more than others.

I have a fake I bought myself and it's crazy how the pigmentation is so different. kat von D's makeup is so strong in pigmentation if you compare a fake it's so easy to spot. this is awesome of you to post this!

Oh i can tell you guys, i purchased from a website M.AC. makeup, a lot!! And later i found out it's counterfeit bc MAC does not have this high discounts! After a month or so came the dwlivery from CHINA and it wasn't even what i purchased - it came dior, channel, mac and urban decay ... the difference between the real and fakes mac is on the botton says made in USA and Mac is actually made in Canada! So disappointing. ..

@maggieclark1 I don't think the fragrance because it would really take a lot of work to recreate the exact fragrance. It would be to noticeably off I would think put I can look around in the morning for you to check but I do think the fragrances are safe.

@rmkonno some people do sell real thing cheaper cause they need the money & with UD the limited edition don't get faked cause they are limited to timeframe. If someone pulled out a vice 4 like 3-4 years from now the makeup would not be the same consistency. You really are safe if you ask proof of purchase. I don't understand why they don't post proof w/product (Tip off its not real)! I sold a UD palette added the proof of purchase in the add & sent it to my buyer for verification

@rmkonno well KVD palettes can only come from KVD sit, Sephora, and now QVC but you have an account on all of them when you purchase them all your info is stored it the system. Same with Ulta and Urban Decay. The people who will take it back is the sites they got scammed at used or not because it's counterfeit illegal makeup. Cause even if they used it they didn't know. If someone gets the law involved the site can get in trouble too that's why they say you can not sell counterfeit items.

@rmkonno sites or stores that sell them especially Sephora & Ulta have a rewards system so even in store buy is in your account history. I order from UD to & all my info is stored. Once you buy an item from places you get emails on products. Cause your account is in the system. I could go back & pull all my purchases right now if I need it. One girl said she worked for Sephora but couldn't find her receipt well if you work their you know your purchases are keep on your account.

@rmkonno I just added my order history to last photo so you can see my example. I purchased the KVD at JC Penny Sephora & I went online just now to Sephora & bam it's there. It's still always good for you to you to take it to Sephora to authenticated & if not. Money back. If it is real great you got a good deal. The only way you can get a good deal on UD is saved up Ulta points but they would still have proof from Ulta.

@rmkonno I think if your buying high priced makeup items you have accounts especially if your gunna turn around and sell it. UD doesn't have rewards but I have an account. Technology is super cool. Even Victoria's Secret has an account for look up if you buy and if your gunna sell why wouldn't you save your recipes? I'm really talking about the people that have "lots" of high priced to sell not the person selling one palette cause she needs the money. Even they take a major cut too cause of %.

There is a site I found that if you send them the sent they will try to replicate it if is discontinued but I don't think the bottles would be the same so I'm thinking your safe on the fragrance. Good news though. It looks like KVD might be bringing it back.

@b_e_c_c_a_ yes Hun they will still have a serial number. The pans will not be completely alined and slightly crooked. The colors might be off. Sometimes the ingredients will be off. Writing on the box can be different and on some fakes the top magnets that hold the box closed on each side of the mirror will show.

@b_e_c_c_a_ if you have an iPhone you can screen shot the products on Sephora, KVD and now I think QVC is selling them. No other places yet. You can also scream shot the item listed and I have an app that you can put real vs listed next to each over and zoom in to help a lot. The app is called layout. It can still be hard to tell sometimes just by eye. If you buy and think something is off. Sephora will authenticate but try to get a proof of purchase like I listed mine.

@b_e_c_c_a_ sorry for typos a lady got mad at me over it but I have a condition that causes issues plus I type fast & don't look over it. With technology it's easy to pull proofs. Especially Sephora w/account look up. If they skip over you asking it's fish. I just asked 2 listings on (M) for proof on something & it got skipped. Another said she didn't have it which is red flag. If your purchasing to sell you should save proof & they can go back & pull as you see in my post.

I just got scammed on Merc for a fake UD Smoky I'm so mad!! It was so close to the original the girls at Ulta almost thought it was real but the brush tipped us off it was missing the serial code and the print on the back of the palette was very slightly smaller than the original one. Should I make a similar pay with my images to warm people of the new UD fakes going around?

They will attack you and try to make you feel like your doing wrong but your not! It's not harassment it's called reporting a crime punishable buy law and jail time. So if you do don't listen to anything anyone says about you cause your doing the right thing hun!

I always screen shot and zoom in and found the urban decay was not centered with the NAKED which my original is. They are getting good! It's so sick

@shanda5303 Merc won't let you call them out like posh though. They won't allow warning posts so you could put it on posh cause most use both. Sorry I just saw the Merc part. Report them and put in a claim with them. I'm not sure how Merc works on that level though. Merc is almost all fakes

I also have a Tarte tartelette coming which is probably a fake, those are harder to spot thought cause they all have the same serial numbers (I checked at Ulta yesterday). I've already reported her to Merc I'm just waiting to hear back, if I don't I'm going to report them to the BBB. I've seen one or two "warning listings" on Merc but I'm not sure if they typically get flagged down. 😕

@shanda5303 are Tartes faked? I haven't seen a fake yet but I wouldn't doubt it. They are faking everything. The Balm, LAROC, Snashbox I could go on and on. A friend told me a popular fake site called AliExpress and I went on it last night and found so much. Check it out sometime so you know what to ask for proof on. Also did you know Tarte was bought out by a company in China?

Yes I looked at it last night and figured out they are getting the UD Smoky palettes for about $8 a piece and turning around and making $22+ on each so for a group of 20 they could make around $400 it's such a scam! 😠😤😡

@happyallthetime I just happened to come across your post! & I just bought what I think is a fake KVD palette on *Merc. At first glance, it looks legit but I see Leowig instead of Ludwig (like one person mentioned) & the pigmentation just isn't there. The seller has nothing but positive feedback but I think it's bcuz most buyers don't know how to spot fakes!

They think wow KVD cheap but they have no idea it can cause harmful reactions which I show in another of my posts. If Merc gives you a hard time remind them that it's a felony crime for the app and the seller. That why I love posh but the % eats up the money you can ligit get off of the palette.

@shortgirl72 I saw them selling in the 20 range. The pans aren't full & showing metal. Colors off plus the writing. If I listed mine w/my crazy lady coupon deals on Merc I would still have to list at $40 + shipping to even make a few dollars literally. I know all the tricks w/Sephora & it's just not right!! What's sad is the seller probably doesn't even know how it could harm! Im so glad I can help others w/my post! I'm not claiming to be a know it all but I can't sit back & watch this happen!

@shortgirl72 I agree not everyone scams but lately it sure is more of a 80/20 leaning towards the scam side! Nothing is wholesale so cheap prices and a lot of expensive palettes are a tip off. If someone is not scamming it's normally only a few & will be asking for more money. I've asked a lot of people lately for proof which I show in all of my few that I sell but it gets skipped over a lot. We all know just like in this listing you can show proof even if the receipt is not kept.

@shortgirl72 No they can not use their pro discount for selling or Sephora employee. They risk losing everything. I'm not even aloud to use my pro for my own items that I collect. Pros have to prove use and license. All pro programs even have a basic contract that if you profit by selling you will be terminated but your right some people do need the money at times. An employee can be fired immediately if found out per Sephora management I spoke with.

@shortgirl72 the only pro is for makeup artists & the risk is to high to lose. I do know of one way to get it cheaper through deals with Sephora however with tax this palette is 49 something. Let's just round to 50 cause it's close. I know how to get it 20% off. That's posh cut! That's why I said even a real one to make a few dollars literally only maybe 2-3 dollars. The only way it would be cheaper is someone over spent & need money quick but they won't have many to sell.

Wow could you imagine that risk. To lose a major accomplishment boggles my mind. @happyallthetime yeah it's that bad. The pictures look legit. When I got it, I gave it a quick look over & it looked legit too! The box had the details I was looking for: nice gold foil letter, stars right on the immediate inside of the box & even a serial number! But upon further inspection, I found 2 typos & the glue mess! Some of shades weren't even matte, they had a sheen to them! 😑

You should be safe w/4 & up for a little while but either way I really suggest asking for proof of purchase! If they won't show or skip over the question something is up! Also, the words shade to.light will be a little messy, not as clean with the silver behind the writing. & the words will be closer to the edge, like on the edge basically. The casing will be bubbly & not as sleek. Also, there is a serial number bottom left right on the back of the pallette

@lovepink360 No! To be specific look at the pans & you'll see lots of metal showing. KVD is pretty perfect when it comes to fill level it's why you pay so much. The metal showing on all 3 bottom pans is not KVD quality! Also even w/crazy coupon discount I use Sephora you could never make money on posh. I was gunna list my top palette but posh cut is to much so I'm going with Merc. Always ask for Proof make sure it says store & purchased not just added to cart.

Sorry to butt in! One thing I have noticed with all of KVD bigger palettes is they have a magnetic closure. I've seen a couple China fakes now and none have this. That's one question I've learned to ask on here with the KVD palettes. This place is crawling with fakes now that I can spot them. It's sad!

I really think when you get it in your hand and the colors are not vibrant & you see lots of metal on pans it's a dead giveaway. Plus nun of the pans should be crooked. I see a lot of crooked pans on fakes.

@happyallthetime Yes on my fakes the pans are crooked in comparison to the real deal!! So on some f the fakes so you mean the magnet is physically visible? You can't see the magnets on my real ones. Do you know if there is an issue with the fakes making it to her smaller palettes like sinner, saint, etc?

@tinymama85 I have not seen the smaller palettes just the large eye palettes & the contour. Yes some have distinctive metal claps showing through the palette on the corner of the mirrors. It's good to know that you see the crooked pans. It's such a big tip off. I've posted a picture of a fake and someone said I don't see the crooked pan. I do believe when you get the product in your hand you will know it's fake.

It would help a lot of people out and if they can't well I suggest screen shots of palette being sold and a palette from Sephora and I have a side by side app. Like the pictures above. You can tell the difference believe it or not. These expensive palettes are expensive cause they are pretty perfect when produced and not thrown together.

There are so many fakes now you wouldn't believe do me a favor go to a site called AliExpress and type in makeup palettes and you won't believe how many fakes there are. A friend of mine told me of this site. It's sick. That's why I say ask for proof of purchase. These people hurt true sellers that just really need to money and take a price cut.

@kadence35 there is actually a guide on google you can search for the contour palette. I did this because there is no eye palette guide. On the contour I know a big thing is ingredients. Either way toe tell the difference you need s real one and if you don't have one its best to go into Sephora

@kadence35 I have seen a lot lately and I can tell any KVD is off by the colors or the pans not being strait and full. If one pan a little metal that's ok but if more than one its a bit off. What sad is when they first came out you wouldn't see metal on any of them but KVD is getting a little sloppy lately but I still think they are truly easy to spot! If you think for one second something is off go with your gut cause it's normally right.

@kadence35 I know I'm late to the party, but the fake KVD Shade & Light palettes all have bogus serial numbers. The fake eye palettes all have bogus number: 5103A4356A; the fake face palettes have bogus number: 5211A5148A.
The Monarch/Chrysalis palettes all use: 5183C.

@happyallthetime Research. If you go to Sephora and look at all of the KVD Shade & Light palettes, you'll see that every single one has a different serial number. Then, check out the KVD palettes on MCRI, EBY, and PM. You'll see that like, 90% of the ones listed (from all over the world!) all have those serial numbers. ...which isn't possible.

@stupid_cupid yes real palettes have different numbers. I never noticed a specific on fakes but I know serials can be faked so I look for the noticeable differences. Pans not full, crooked, bad color, writing difference & ingredients list. I'll start looking at that. I never gave serial a thought cause I know they are faked & have see duplicates but didn't think all fakes would be the same number. I'll take a look at that! @happyallthetime Thanks! There are several ways to spot a counterfeit product; I just find that the serial number is the dead giveaway (assuming a seller posts a photo of it). The others differences are kinda hard to spot without doing a side-by-side comparison, and most people don't know to look for them. I might do a counterfeit-spotting tutorial/infographic.

POSHMARK denied my case review and released my money. I am not comfortable with POSHMARK anymore. I was thinking of bringing a class-action lawsuit to this site. POSH denied my case because the Seller provided a receipt of purchase at Sephora.

@happyallthetime Do you know how to validate the KVD serial code on the back of the palette? The seller keep saying it's an authentic serial code. If you read her comments you could see what she is claiming. At the end of her comments I can see her true face is showing and how desperate she wanted this palette to be sold. Once the money was release and she is RUDE by the end and don't care.

Go to Sephora and get it appeased and they will write it for you so you can get your money back quick. Now if you want to do a lawsuit because posh will not take these reports down we can
