Just added: The letter to show your postal employee if they give you a hard time about using flat rate boxes! There has been a spike in people reporting issues at the PO counters! Even though Poshmark says you can now use Flat Rate Priority Mail boxes, some sellers have reported problems at the post office using these boxes. So it is your choice, but the safest boxes are the regular Priority Mail boxes. The graphic above lists the most common types of boxes I order FOR FREE from USPS.com.

Apr 21Reply

goldielocks1960
If I wrap them in brown paper then they can't see the flat rate, is that okay?
Apr 21Reply

poshinistajen
@goldielocks1960 Yes that should work but the size of the boxes will probably look familiar to the postal employees. I would recommend ordering online the free boxes and then dropping off your unused flat rate boxes at your post office. They will likely appreciate that.

@miss_sarah_beth Happy to help! USPS has so many different boxes it is confusing trying to figure out which ones work. Good luck!!
Nov 15Reply

poshinistajen
@miss_sarah_beth If you have extra boxes around the house you can use those too, as long as they are not too big. However the USPS boxes are just as easy to order online or pick up free at the local Post Office. Some Poshers use the Tyvek envelopes that are Priority Mail and those work too, but sometimes result in extra wrinkles so personally I prefer the boxes but everyone has preferences!
Nov 15Reply

poshinistajen
@miss_sarah_beth Depends on how big. 1095 might work. Otherwise they do have a large square box that is good for purses and other large items. Not sure on the number though but I think it is either 12"x12" or 16"×16". The measurements are on the USPS web site. Only downside is that you have to order like 10 at a time. However if you find yourself not needing the extra boxes you can always take them to the post office and drop them off.
Nov 15Reply

poshinistajen
@miss_sarah_beth Yes they are available at some of the bigger post offices. Like main post offices and those offices that have mailing windows wi also have boxes. The selection can vary though!
Nov 15Reply

poshinistajen
@miss_sarah_beth The boxes are free and the shipping is free. It may take 10 days to a week to receive them though. So order early!

ebakedgoods
If i might make a suggestion? I have run into the post office not accepting a certain type of their box so I undo the glue and flip the box around inside out and use packing tape to put it back together. You can use any size box that way and they can't stop you just certain ones with priority express etc written one them won't be accepted.
Sep 17Reply

poshinistajen
@ebakedgoods That certain type of box they don't accept is Flat Rate. This is pretty clear in the Poshmark Do's and Don'ts. Flipping those boxes inside out can still get you or your buyer into trouble. Depends on the Postal employees that want to enforce the rules. That package could be flagged for extra postage due when it arrives to your buyer (Or at any post office along the route). (Continued)
Sep 17Reply

poshinistajen
@ebakedgoods (continued) And the buyer has every right to refuse the delivery and send it back. And Poshmark will side with the buyer EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. Because the seller didn't read the rules. It's not worth it to break the rules or risk a negative rating. It's way easier to just order the correct boxes or polymailers for free and use those. Which is the purpose of this post. To educate sellers.
Sep 17Reply

ebakedgoods
@poshinistajen wow youre really upset. I was just trying to help with jnformation that was useful to me as i was told by a post office employee that it was ingenious and you can use any box or package as long as its under the weight limit and not those specific labels on them. But its ok. Ill do me and you do you . Thanks a bunch happy poshing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!peace love and posh.
Sep 17Reply

poshinistajen
@ebakedgoods I'm not upset. Just correcting you so your misinformation will not hurt other poshers who try to do the same thing. Not every post office would look kindly on turning an express or flat rate box inside out as they are supposed to be used for that type of specific shipping. This is also a no-no as listed on the US Postal Service web site. You want to risk an issue, go ahead. But please do not tell others to do the same. Have a wonderful day.

Yes! Thank you! I have been having some of my Posh purchases in flat rate boxes shipped to me taking 7-10 days. I asked the post office why... They told me because the label doesn’t match the box. My post office is picky but others aren’t so picky.
That’s why I don’t think other post offices have issues with the FR boxes.
This is VERY helpful! Thank you! ♥️
Mar 11Reply

@cnslavick My pleasure! There was a memo sent out to the Post Offices about the Poshmark - USPS agreement, but many offices didn't read the memo or the automated machines haven't been updated. I sent one item recently in a flat rate box and it took 12 days to get to the buyer. It's just not worth it to risk such a delay.

Do they have to go in priority mailing?
May 31Reply

thriftbizzyizzy
@poshinistajen hi ! If I hAve my own shipping bags, can I use to mail things or do items always go in priority mailer?
May 31Reply

poshinistajen
@thriftbizzyizzy You can use your own packaging if you like. You just can't use Priority Express boxes and I recommend not using Flat Rate as there are still some Post Offices that won't accept flat rate boxes with Poshmark labels. You don't need to buy your own Tyvek envelopes or boxes. USPS provides them for free. I order them online about once a month.
May 31Reply

poshinistajen
@asmar82 Yes! Those are awesome for bundles or for big hats and purses!
May 31Reply

thriftbizzyizzy
@poshinistajen will things ship just as fast in my own bag?
May 31Reply

poshinistajen
@thriftbizzyizzy Yes they should! You may want to order the Priority Mail stickers to put on them. (They are free) so the postal carriers can easily see they are Priority Mail. It's not necessary, but it can be beneficial around the holidays when there is a lot more mail going around the country.
May 31Reply

poshinistajen
@annjustus03 My pleasure! Let me know if you have any questions or need any help!
Jun 24Reply

poshinistajen
@annjustus03 Those are the box numbers. You can see them on the boxes by the barcode. But they are mostly used for searching the USPS web site to find and order them! It makes it easier to find them and you will eventually have a favorite. Mine is 1097 since it fits 2 items nicely usually.
Jun 24Reply

poshinistajen
@annjustus03 Oh, they can be big numbers for a few reasons. 1. It's an item not for sale. 2. It's on hold for someone to purchase later. 3. It's a listing like this that is informational. 4. It is priced really high so there is enough room in the number to reduce by 10% so a price drop notification goes out to all the "likers". So for instance if I update this listing, I can drop the price by 10% and everyone who liked it will get a notification about this listing.

Nov 17Reply

shorteesaywhat
I have issues with using larger sizes and my friend doesn’t. We both live in different cities.
Nov 20Reply

poshinistajen
@shorteesaywhat If it says Priority Mail or Priority Mail Flat Rate it is allowed. You cannot use Priority Mail Express boxes. Sometimes we have to educate the post office workers as they haven't read the memo that was sent out regarding Poshmark packages.
Nov 20Reply

poshinistajen
@shorteesaywhat Also Poshmark post allows up to 5 pounds. Over 5 pounds requires additional money from the seller to upgrade the label. If you don't, the post office charges the buyer to deliver it and they have every right to refuse a postage due package. Which means you lose the sale. Not sure of this is what you are encountering at the P.O.
Nov 20Reply

shorteesaywhat
I used a flat rate box one time and the lady ripped my box open.
Nov 21Reply

poshinistajen
@shorteesaywhat Oh My! That is crazy! She evidently did not know that we can use them now. (As of last year.) If you have problems with your post office, don't be afraid to contact the postmaster general because they will take care of the rude employees.

Love this! I’ve had sooo many issues with sellers sending packages improperly and causing severe delays and requiring me to pay additional postage and to make special trips to the post office. It’s so frustrating. As a seller myself, I just recently realized that there are so many different types of boxes. I knew not to use express, but didn’t know about flat rate causing issues.
Dec 03Reply

poshinistajen
@daffodill21 It is getting better! Poshmark and USPS have updated the Poshmark labels to give instructions to the PO workers now because of all the issues. Have you noticed it within the last month or so?? Thank goodness it is in time for the holidays!
Dec 03Reply

fraufinster
@poshinistajen I’ve only had one issue in the past month with a flat rate box being held for additional postage at the post office. The other recent issues resulted from sellers not understanding (or maybe caring?) that there’s a difference between priority mail and priority express boxes. Some have slipped through the cracks and made it to me anyway, but usually the post office refuses to deliver them.
Dec 03Reply

poshinistajen
@daffodill21 Oh my goodness. That is crazy! I don't think I have ever had a seller send me something in an Express box. I've just experienced shipping delays with Flat Rate. I'm guessing they are new and just don't read the information Poshmark provides or maybe you're right, they don't care.
Dec 03Reply

fraufinster
@poshinistajen I honestly think it’s happened like 10 times. That’s why I was so excited to see this! Definitely reposting! 😄
Dec 03Reply

gp_2018
Hi! My post office employee asked me to pay an additional $6 for shipping on a flat rate box because he said it was a medium size and the shipping label did not say medium and stated that those boxes ship for $12😣I told him that’s what poshmark sends and another employee said just send it that way but I was so confused . Can we use any size priority box as long as it’s below the 5 pounds?
Dec 07Reply

poshinistajen
@gp_2018 You can use Priority Mail or Priority Mail Flat Rate for up to 5 lbs. Anything over that will require additional payment. Be sure not to use Priority Mail Express boxes.
Dec 07Reply

gp_2018
@poshinistajen thanks for your response! It was a flat rate with a weight of 2 pounds, they just stressed me cuz they didn’t know how it worked he made it seem we can’t use the different size flat rate or regular priority boxes
Dec 07Reply

poshinistajen
@gp_2018 my pleasure! Poshmark recently updated the labels with instructions for the post office employees. If you look closely its below the delivery address and above the tracking number! Just show them that next time! Good luck!
Dec 07Reply

poshinistajen
@janas11 Your buyers should not be charged extra as long as it was under 5 pounds and a Priority Mail (regular, Flat Rate or Regional Rate) box. As long as it didn't say Priority Mail Express you should be fine! If you have the issue again have the PO worker read that little print on the label that tells them how to ring it up!
Dec 13Reply

poshinistajen
@janas11 I try not to use Flat Rate because of all the confusion still... you can order boxes online in packs of 10 and they come flat so they are easy to store. Plus they are free and you will have them on hand when you sell something.
Dec 13Reply

@cajunteacher2 That is great you have never had a problem! I've been on Poshmark since 2014 and we have been able to use flat rate since the end of 2017 but there have still been issues with some POs.

@poshinistajen Just an update...I was on USPS last night and seen that they are gonna make Shipping prices higher in 2019 ...will Poshmark update the shipping prices automatically as well ...just wondering.
Hope
Dec 23Reply

poshinistajen
@hopeh227 hi there! Poshmark has a negotiated rate with the US postal service for posh packages. If there is an increase the rate will potentially go up and they will renegotiate. If it is not a huge increase it may stay at the same rate. Either way we will get a notification from Posh several weeks to a month in advance of any increase.
Dec 23Reply

@poshinistajen I as well have had a postal worker tell me the same with using the wrong box even though I have read over and over no matter the size if flat rate it’s by the weight and if it fits it ships...she wasn’t very pleasant when I had told her I’ve used the same box just days before and everything went fine ...but it is a little confusing if you use marked boxes with different sizes this is true ...and thanks again for the info about the change with pricing.
Dec 23Reply

crzythriftycool
THANK YOU. I’ve had so many problems with the flat rate boxes. The post office simply would not accept them. (Question: where the box says “priority mail postage required”- should something go there?)
Dec 26Reply

poshinistajen
@umearth2chelsea Some of the post offices didn't read the memo that was sent out regarding the Posh Post (Poshmark's deal with USPS) and so there is new verbiage on the actual labels with instructions for how to ring in the boxes upon acceptance. You should be able to show that to the postal worker to get them to accept it. The only way you would owe more postage is if you're over 5 pounds.
Dec 26Reply

poshinistajen
@umearth2chelsea As far as the "Priority Mail Postage Required" printed on the boxes, that just means your label you get from Poshmark with the buyers address needs to say Priority Mail. Poshmark generates those so it's all taken care of. Just print the label and tape it on.

hi! i used a small flat rate priority box & a medium flat rate & the woman at usps told me they have to say "mail only" on the box and not "small flat rate" or medium or that my label has to say small or medium flat rate?
Jan 02Reply

poshinistajen
@okika Thatbis not accurate. You can use any flat rate box. (This wasn't the case previously.) And USPS sent a bulletin out to every post office about allowing Poshmark packages to be sent in flat rate boxes. However A LOT of post offices didn't read or disseminate this info. So on the bottom of your label in tiny print under the address it tells the postal worker how to ring it up correctly and which bulletin they need to read. Just point that out and you should be good to go!
Jan 02Reply

okika
@poshinistajen thank you so much!! i was confused because i have been using medium flat rate boxes this whole time and never had any issues. i appreciate it!
Jan 02Reply

@okika If they still give you crap, let them know you will be filing a complaint with the Postmaster General. That will get their attention.

Jan 08Reply

Yep, My post office made me put my tiny flat rate box into a regular Priority box...which concerns me because it has been 24 hours and the item still has not been scanned.
Jan 16Reply

poshinistajen
@ivymasters If you took it to the counter they should have scanned it. (Ask for a receipt with tracking number.) Also on that receipt is a survey you can take, especially if they are being difficult. Tracking info is only downloaded to Poshmark a few times a day so maybe it will make the next round.
Jan 16Reply

poshinistajen
@ivymasters There is a tiny little text note on your Poshmark label that tells the Post office workers how to handle our packages and ring them up. Next time ask them to read the label. If they still give you crap, contact the postmaster general and complain. They take that seriously.
Jan 16Reply

ivymasters
@poshinistajen Is there away that we can get a copy of the "Memo" to educate our local USPS office? It would really help.
Jan 16Reply

ivymasters
@poshinistajen That is what I thought too, but they insist that I just drop it off and then they scan items after closing.

This is helpful! I thought the small priority mall flat rate boxes were acceptable ?
Jan 30Reply

poshinistajen
@ashleysund All flat rate boxes are acceptable now. However you may get some flack from USPS employees who never got the memo. Or the system may take longer to route your package in an efficient manner. So it is just easier to order the ones on their web site as listed above and you won't have these issues.
Jan 30Reply

shebopcloset
Where do you see the box number? I can't see it on the USPS website. Thank you!
Feb 02Reply

poshinistajen
@shebopcloset It will say "Priority Mail Box 1092" in the title. Or you can search for the numbers using the search feature.
Feb 02Reply

bellaboome
This is great information! I just started to get comments from post office about proper size box to use given the prepaid postage label paid by weight. Thanks!
Feb 03Reply

poshinistajen
@bellaboome Gah. Yep. This is why I say this info is still valid. So many PO employees STILL don't know we can use flat rate boxes. I just don't screw with them because it isn't worth the argument at the counter.

What do you think is the best way to ship a T shirt?
Also thank you so much for this info ✌🏼✌🏼✌🏼
Feb 09Reply

poshinistajen
@tellsome1 You could do a polymailer but personally I like to ship in boxes so things don't get too wrinkled. Something like box 1092 or 1097 would work!
Feb 09Reply

tellsome1
Also can you recommend a box to ship shoes?
Thank you
Feb 09Reply

tellsome1
@poshinistajen u da best! I know it’s late and I didn’t think u would reply so quickly! 10/10 for that!
Feb 09Reply

poshinistajen
@tellsome1 LOL! Just got home from the bars! There is a specific shoe box size you can order online or sometimes find in the post office. If you are sending in an actual shoe box. Many of those won't fit in that priority mail box. So I usually order some of the 12 x 12 boxes!
Feb 09Reply

tellsome1
@poshinistajen hahaha niceee hope u had a fun night :)
The 12x12 boxes will fit the shoe box?
Feb 09Reply

poshinistajen
@tellsome1 12 x 12 will fit MOST shoe boxes yes... but can't be sure as I have had some 14 inch boxes. If you need a measuring tape, they have them at the dollar store! I also give them away as gifts with purchase sometimes! Lol... something every Posher can use!

Any cheaper alternative to packing peanuts or bubble wrap when filling in the empty spaces so my items dont move around too much?
Feb 09Reply

poshinistajen
@tellsome1 I use tissue paper and if there is a lot of space to fill, then I reuse packing materials I have received (packing peanuts, packing paper, bubble wrap or those inflatable bags) if all else fails, plastic grocery sacks or sacks stuffed with newspaper as a last resort.

Do you know if usps bring the boxes u ordered to your door or leave at the community mail box?
Feb 11Reply

poshinistajen
@tellsome1 Depends on the situation. They will drop them where you usually get your packages. If your community mailbox is outside they are likely to deliver to your porch/door. If you live in a secured apartment or condo they will leave them at the community mailbox likely.
Feb 11Reply

poshinistajen
@tellsome1 My carrier delivers them to my porch as they do with all big packages that won't fit in the mailbox.

@poshinistajen hello! Sorry to bother you but just wondering if u have run into the issue of a large bundle not fitting into any usps boxes that are available. I have a bundle I just sold with 9 items (half being shoes) and there is no way for me to fit everything in 1 box. Not sure if u have any advice or if I should ask Poshmark directly. Thanks in advance!
Feb 14Reply

poshinistajen
@astone121 Sorry for the delay in getting back to you! You can use a regular box you may have around the house, it doesn't have to be Priority boxes. I have also seen where sellers will fill two boxes and tape them together securely. Be sure to weigh your box because of it is over 5 pounds you will need to upgrade the label and pay extra.
Feb 14Reply

poshinistajen
@astone121 If you use a big box or tape two together you also need to measure it: Per USPS policy, the maximum combined length and girth of the box must be no greater than 108". Meaning the combined measurement of the longest side and the distance around the thickest part can’t be more than 108".

Great information. My question does Poshmark have an agreement with USPS on using the flat rate boxes with they label? If so where do I find this agreement. ? I have been using the flat rate without a problem until last week when 2 postal employee's at the same time told me I could not use them. Please clarify so confused.
Feb 16Reply

poshinistajen
@beach213 Yes Poshmark and the USPS have an agreement and Flat Rate boxes are allowed. It has been an issue for some time. This is why it now says on the label how to ring up our packages. There is a memo that went out to all the Post Offices, but many didn't read it our train their employees on the new agreement.
Feb 16Reply

poshinistajen
@beach213 I do not have a copy of it but you can join one of the Poshmark groups on Facebook and I am sure someone still has a copy of it you can post. Essentially the postmaster general would like to know which POs are not following this new rule and they can be reported for it.
Feb 16Reply

beach213
@poshinistajen Thank you. I sent a report in to USPS complaining about the clerks that gave me a hard time with the flat rate box. The funny thing is I ship a package on Thursday the clerk did not say a word about the flat rate box, then a ship one on Friday different clerk and he gave me a hard time about it and said it was not allowed.
Feb 17Reply

poshinistajen
@beach213 Eventually they will learn. It's just unfortunate WE have to be the ones to teach them or report them. It's really simple and the instructions are right there in little print on the label.
Feb 17Reply

randgirl
What if you have a wide-brimmed hat that doesn't fit in any of the priority boxes? I can use my own box but can I still use Poshmark's priority mailing label?
Feb 18Reply

poshinistajen
@randgirl Yes you can use your own box with the Poshmark label. As long as it doesn't exceed the 108" maximum. (Scroll up a few comments to see how this is measured)
Feb 18Reply

poshinistajen
@pdyer612 Yes I save all my packing material from online orders and reuse them for Poshmark orders. Great idea!

After shipping things for several months the post office has now turned me away because of the box. Can you tell me where on the box the number is so I can tell looking at the ones I have already have at home if I can use them? They all look so much alike. I’ve used all of them before but suddenly they’re not OK. Thanks for your help.
Feb 19Reply

poshinistajen
@ksoackman Honestly you can use any Priority Mail box as long as it doesn't say Priority Mail Express. But there have been increasing issues with using Flat Rate ones (even though they are totally allowed). As far as the box number it's in small print usually next to the dimensions and/or barcode on the box.
Feb 20Reply

ksoackman
@poshinistajen yeah,up until now I’ve used all but the express. Got a grouchy postal worker today.
Feb 20Reply

poshinistajen
@ksoackman Oh geez. That sucks.. did they see the little "instructions" on how to ring up Poshmark packages on the label? And just ignore that?
Feb 20Reply

ksoackman
@poshinistajen No, he didn’t want to listen to anything I had to say. Oh well. Hopefully posh Mark keeps communicating to the Postal Service so the message keeps trickling down.
Feb 20Reply

@poshinistajen Thank you so much for this information! So helpful! 😊 Just a question, can I use any box that I have laying around to ship out a heavy jacket to a buyer, and use the shipping label they provided or do I have to use a box only from the post office to ship out the item? I am a bit confused 😭
Mar 12Reply

poshinistajen
@_loreh Hi there! Yes you can use any box to ship! It's also a good idea to weigh your package after you have it closed up. For heavy coats/shoes/big bundles, they may be over 5 pounds. And if that is the case you'll need to buy a new label for the overage. Posh Post is good for up to 5 lbs and anything over that must be paid by seller. I have a kitchen scale I use to weigh my packages. Good luck and Congratulations on your sale!

@jessicad1015 I would leave it in the same Box. It is stated very clearly on the posh mark label to not send these packages postage to and included is instructions on how to ring them up.
Mar 14Reply

poshinistajen
@jessicad1015 If they still give you crap for using a flat rate Box then show them the letter that is on this listing. Ask them to call the postal service contact on the letter for clarification.
Mar 14Reply

@jessicad1015 Yes Flat Rate Priority Mail boxes are acceptable. Sometimes we have to educate the Postal employees. Some didn't get or read the memo so they are still going off of old rules...

@poshinistajen I received my flat rate boxes and envelopes over the weekend.. I have an order all packaged in an envelope ready to go, but after reading this I am concerned. If I crossed out ”flat rate” on the envelope do you think it would be okay? Thank you so much!
Mar 18Reply

poshinistajen
@l_marie1 No need to cross out flat rate on the boxes. You can do two things. Drop in the chute (package drop) and bypass the humans or go to the counter and ask for a receipt for mailing. If they tell you you can't use that box, bring up this listing and show them the letter and ask that they read the letter. They should have received it at every post office. If they don't comply, ask for a supervisor.
Mar 18Reply

poshinistajen
@l_marie1 If they still don't comply get their names and contact the lady on the letter to report them. The ONLY thing that requires additional money is if your package is over 5 pounds.
Mar 18Reply

@poshinistajen I was reading this in poshmark policy... it kept saying 108 but didn’t specify if it was in inches centimeters etc lol
Mar 18Reply

partduex
@poshinistajen my precious box I tried to send was bigger and I ended up altering it and now it’s 15x12x6.5 it’s frustrating because it’s now like there’s a poshmark customer hotline that we can call. We have to send an email and wait.
Mar 18Reply

poshinistajen
@partduex The max is 108 inches. Did you take it to the post office and it was rejected for size? If you take the longest length plus girth (width x 2 plus height x 2) that will equal your dimensions. You can also Google "how to measure a box for USPS" to find this info.
Mar 18Reply

gingerjenkins11
Thank you for posting this! I got into a fights with 3 different post office workers today over this issue! Gonna try to use regular priority boxes from now on.
Mar 21Reply

@gingerjenkins11 You should be able to show them this letter. And ask that they call if they have questions. We shouldn't have to fight with them... but yeah it is safer to just use the regular Priority Mail boxes...
Mar 21Reply

Awesome post! We are at the post office now and they made us remove our shipment from the flat rate box and use the priority mail box instead. 🤦🏻♀️
Mar 25Reply

poshinistajen
@katandchase Did you show them the letter? I would report them for non-compliance.
Mar 26Reply

katandchase
@poshinistajen Chase ran the box in and they forced him to change it. The PO clerk he handed it to scan in just cut and removed our label before even fully explaining their problem. He told him to get the other box and re-make the package. I then did an online search because I didn’t think it was right & found your post and the letter. We liked your post and saved a screenshot of the letter in case this kind of thing happens again. How would we report it? To Poshmark?

@poshinistajen how can I get this letter. I only have an issue with my local post office. Poshmark has not helped me or given me this letter. The only good shoebox is a flat rate box.
Mar 29Reply

poshinistajen
@daniwoo2 The letter is on this post and you can show it to them. You can use any Priority Mail or Priority Mail Flat Rate box. You cannot use Express. Poshmark does not provide this letter that I am aware of. If you have problems have the local PO call the contact on the letter. If they are still being jerks about it, contact your local postmaster to complain. All post offices have received this letter MULTIPLE TIMES. They need to read it and understand it.

Hello i have a question can we use a Medium flat rate box to ship shoes.
Apr 24Reply

poshinistajen
@yac_kim Yes. Any of the flat rate boxes work, but if you have problems show the little instructions on the label to the postal worker. If they tell you that you can't use flat rate, show them the letter on this post. It is safer to use the regular Priority Mail shoe box from the standpoint that your shoes will fit better and no post office confusion.
Apr 24Reply

yac_kim
@poshinistajen I tried to ship some shoes yesterday in a medium flat rate box and the lady told me no you cannot use those boxes you need to use the regular priority mail boxes
And I told her well I’ve used these boxes in the past and never got told I could not use them.
She has always given me poor customer service I’m shipping the box today at a different post office some people just don’t want to accept they are wrong

@haleydavis974 They don't know what they are talking about and are trying to enforce OLD rules. Show them the letter above and read through this posting. This is why I personally don't use flat rate. @poshinistajen I was planning on buying poli mailers 100 count of amazon for my sales. Is that allowed?
May 06Reply

poshinistajen
@kathymichell Yes you can use polymailers or boxes you already have at home. But not every seller wants to invest in polymailers. This post is for people who want to get the free boxes from USPS. It's all personal preference. Some people like the polymailers, personally I don't as they don't seem to protect the items as well and my post man shoves them into my mailbox wrinkling items. I once received a pair of Prada heels in a polymailer that were scuffed up and unprotected.

What should/can I do to help and or avoid the return. Thank you for any suggestions 😩☹️❤️

@poshinistajen I don’t believe it was express I know those aren’t allowed- I do know it was flat rate. I emailed Poshmark support. What else can I do? Any recommendations? 🤷🏻♀️☹️
May 14Reply

poshinistajen
@lhenichnaya1 I would get the post office information from the buyer and give Ambrose (the lady in the letter above) a call or an email. You can also provide her contact info to the buyer to give to the post office so they can make the call. If you mailed it in a plain flat rate box, they cannot charge your buyer. If it gets returned to you, submit a complaint to both Poshmark and USPS and Poshmark will take care of it.

May 23Reply

@bbl030504 Yes they work. But use with caution. If you take to the counter at the Post Office they may not accept it because they don't know they are allowed. All Priority Flat Rate packaging is allowed now but unfortunately many sellers are still having issues. If you do, show them the letter in the last photo.

May 23Reply

poshinistajen
@tjhahn2004 Definitely file a complaint! You have every right to use Priority Mail or Prio5Mail Flat Rate packaging. The postal employees need to READ the memo above and follow the new rules. So many horror stories here.. so sorry you had to deal with this!
May 23Reply

edistyles
Thank you so much @poshinistajen for this info. I just went to drop off a package in the small flat rate box & they said the can take it but the buyer might be charged extra for shipping. He gave a bunch of "shoe box" sized boxes. He said those are the correct ones to use. He said they are making changes this year to there computers which will create problems with the boxes we've been using. It was a little confusing.
May 28Reply

poshinistajen
@edislimes Sounds like the classic case of another Postal employee that did not see the memo allowing us to use flat rate boxes. This is why I don't recommend using them unless you are armed with the letter above. Your buyer should not have to pay to receive the box. If she does, it needs to be reported so it can be fixed and she can be refunded.

Hi :)
Thank you for posting this as it is very helpful for new Poshers!!
I was wondering if you know if the USPS shoe box is allowed?
If no, do you have any suggestions on what size USPS box to use to ship shoes ? Most of my shoes for sale are with out box so I have been wondering which box to use to ship them. Thank you :) I am sharing this post right now cause I know how helpful it will be for others 😀😀🤗🤗👕👨👧👧👙👗👨👦👦👠👛🕶
May 28Reply

poshinistajen
@giannadesigns Hi there! You can definitely use the Priority Mail shoe box! I order those for free from the web site along with 1095, 1097 and 1092. Those are my most frequently ordered boxes for Poshmark sales! You can use regular Priority Mail or Priority Mail Flat Rate, just not Priority Mail Express boxes. I recommend the regular Priority Mail ones for the least amount of trouble!
May 28Reply

giannadesigns
@poshinistajen thank you 🤗. I was just at the post office today with a priority mail box and they asked me to only use priority mail boxes that say “mailing box” And not to use the boxes that say flat rate on them? So I had to take it out and repack it into the priority mail “mailing” box. No big deal, just confusing. I think the post office is giving out incorrect info maybe?
May 29Reply

poshinistajen
@giannadesigns Yes they are giving you bad information. Flat rate boxes have been for allowed since the end of 2017. You just need to show the letter posted above and the small print instructions on the label about how to ring up your package. If they are being rude or difficult I would call and report them or ask to speak to a manager. Sorry you went through this. But this is exactly why I don't recommend using flat rate unless you're ready with this info.
May 29Reply

giannadesigns
@poshinistajen thanks again. I’m shipping shoes out in a medium flat rate box tomorrow morning so I will see how it goes :)
The problem is that shoes won’t fit in any of the “mailing boxes” they claim to be requiring.

Hi quick question can you use The large Flat rate boxes?
Jun 14Reply

poshinistajen
@flipfashions Yes you can but if your Post Office tells you that you can't, show then the letter on this post. They are allowed. Have them read directions on the label to ring it up.

@poshinistajen i ran into the same problem today and didn't notice the Priority Mail boxes said Flat Rate. I tried finding it in the posts and couldn't--what is the difference in the Flat Rate, versus regular USPS boxes?
Jun 17Reply

poshinistajen
@converse1980s Flat rate say flat rate and they used to not be allowed. Now they are allowed but not all the postal employees know that. So that is why I recommend ordering the regular Priority Mail boxes online. You're less likely to have an issue with them.
Jun 24Reply

poshinistajen
@victorian112091 Chances are you were using boxes that were okay to use. They are just having communication issues with the individual post offices getting the message to employees. You CAN use Flat Rate. Just be prepared to show them the letter above.

Hi there, I was reading down on the comments and maybe I missed the answer. I am shipping out a purse tomorrow and I don’t want to smash it in the largest flat rate priority box. I already printed my label PM sends when we sell. Can I use my own brown box and the label I already printed?
Jul 08Reply

poshinistajen
@trendyfashions Hi there! Yes you can use any box you already have. Doesn't have to be Priority Mail box. Congratulations on your sale!
Jul 08Reply

vanessa_marie12
@poshinistajen So this label we print out when we have a sale - does it cover any size of the flat rate boxes that are priority mail (red) so long as it’s under 5lbs? I don’t need an upgraded label or pay for extra shipping? Sorry if you’ve already answered this.
Jul 14Reply

poshinistajen
@vanessa_marie12 Correct. You can use any box you already have or any of the Priority Mail regular or Flat Rate boxes. Weight is up to 5 lbs. Over 5lbs and you have to get an upgraded label through the app. Just be sure you do not use Priority Mail Express boxes as those are not covered under the agreement with USPS.

erikataha3
Hi! I know u can use priority mail but my box says “Large Flat Rate Box for domestic and international use”. It also has military info to fill in. Can I use that to ship my items?
Jul 19Reply

poshinistajen
@erikataha3 Yes you can use any flat rate box as long as it doesn't say Express. If they give you any trouble show them the instructions on the label at the bottom on how to ring it up. If that doesnt work show them the letter on this post! Good luck!
Jul 19Reply

poshinistajen
@trends1817 Correct. You just have to be sure you have one of the acceptable boxes (Priority Mail regular or flat rate) and it must be 5 pounds or less.
Jul 20Reply

poshinistajen
@trends1817 If you don't find the correct boxes, the Tyvek mailing envelope that is Priority Mail also works.
Jul 20Reply

I have to chime in. Poshmark’s site to this day still states that we can use USPS Priority mail Flat Rate Boxes. It further indicates NOT to use express. However all the post offices near me will NOT allow Flat Rate box usage with the Posh label. I notified Poshmark months again. No change since at either the post office nor Poshmark’s website.
Jul 21Reply

dawnla
I also have inquired why the over 5 lbs shipping fees to seller are so high - as mathematically it makes no sense. About $4 for 1 lb add and $7 to add 2 lbs. to the same box. Really? Take a look at 10lbs rate - OMG!! Not logical and even more demotivating. Again asked Posh. No answers. Let’s remember too that these costs are on top of the $6.79 the buyer pays!
Jul 21Reply

poshinistajen
@dawnla You can use Flat Rate or Regular Priority Mail. It has been that way since late 2017 after they announced it at Poshfest in Chicago. Unfortunately it is the USPS that hasn't accurately communicated it to their local post offices or if they have it was lost in the shuffle. I would recommend calling the lady listed on the letter above and filing a formal complaint through her and your local postmaster general.
Jul 21Reply

dawnla
@poshinistajen thanks for the input. I have addressed with PO with letter and they are adamant that we cannot use Flat Rate. They said they can’t control what Poshmark tells us. It would be nice if Poshmark would take responsibility to work this out with the USPS in support of sellers or just remove flat rate boxes as being approved to decrease the problems. Sad no response or action from them.
Jul 21Reply

poshinistajen
@dawnla That is so sad your post office literally cannot read. Definitely contact the lady on the letter to tell her what you are going through. She has been great about taking care of this. It is her job to maintain the partnership between USPS and Poshmark and making sure the USPS workers do their jobs.
Jul 21Reply

dawnla
@poshinistajen I’m done spending time on this. I ship my own boxes or priority only. Poshmark is aware and negotiated the deal with USPS and should take responsibility to fix the issue with them or change the deal. I just feel bad for the new Poshers that encounter issues. Posh is fully aware.
Jul 21Reply

pisspauvre
@poshinistajen my question is if you drop them on the counter and not wait in line, because you shouldn’t need to if the postage is already on it- what happens if one pkg has already notified shipped but the other one, that happens to be in a priority box medium (the cubic one, not the skinnier flat one) has not notified as shipped? I
Jul 22Reply

pisspauvre
used flat rate as required even have the graphic saved to my pics- it just doesn’t include the cubic one in the graphic but I assumed it was okay to use since it’s medium flat rate priority. It’s a pair of shoes I didn’t want to crush. What do I do? Assume they haven’t scanned it yet or know that they’re turning it away and at this point it’s been tossed in a bin that isn’t going out? Shipped them both this morning at 930. 🤷♀️😭😭😭
Jul 22Reply

poshinistajen
@pisspauvre Don't worry about it. It just wasn't scanned or maybe it didn't make the cutoff for the data push from USPS to Poshmark that happens several times a day. I have had the same thing happen many times on packages dropped off at the same time. Just give it a day or two and it will likely get scanned at another location and it will be updated. It is not real time.

Jul 24Reply

@ibethram Yes you can use flat rate boxes. Just be prepared to show the Postal workers the instructions on how to ring it up (small print on bottom of label) and if they still give you any trouble show them the attached letter in this post. We seem to have to educate the postal employees on how this works since they aren't doing a good job of it.

Jul 25Reply

poshinistajen
@bailey3071 Yes you can use Flat Rate boxes. Just be prepared to educate them. See post above.
Jul 26Reply

poshinistajen
@joyfullj You can use the Priority Mail envelopes as long as they are not Express. Honestly, I prefer boxes as the envelopes are not recyclable and they take a long time to degrade. People are more likely to recycle cardboard and if they don't it does degrade. Also cardboard boxes protect the garments better. The envelopes get smashed and folded up in mailbox wrinkling the items inside.
Jul 30Reply

poshinistajen
@joyfullj Yes you can use any flat rate box. Poshmark negotiated a deal with USPS for us to use those boxes in addition to the regular Priority Mail boxes. If they give you any grief show them the instructions on the bottom of the label on how to ring up. If that doesn't work show them the letter on this post. Congratulations on your sales!!

Aug 12Reply

poshinistajen
@laurenblythe66 You can use any Priority Mail box. Flat rate or regular. As long as it doesn't say Express.
Aug 12Reply

colorado_glitz
@poshinistajen thank you- even with the cost difference on different sizes? that label will cover it?
Aug 13Reply

poshinistajen
@laurenblythe66 Yes. As long as it is not over 5 pounds. Poshmark negotiated a rate with USPS and originally we could only use regular Priority Mail Boxes. In late 2017 they negotiated to also use Flat Rate boxes giving us a wider range of options.
Aug 13Reply

Aug 24Reply

poshinistajen
@kerryxokerry Hi there! Sorry for the delay. I'm currently touring Scotland. I would say 1097 will work! It will give you plenty of room and protection if it is padded. May be a little big but you can always stuff with tissue paper or reuse packing materials like those plastic air filled bags. Congratulations on your sale!
Aug 24Reply

poshinistajen
@franna_finds Hi there! Sorry for the delay. I'm currently touring Scotland. You can definitely use a regular brown box if it wont fit. But you do need to upgrade the label via the Poshmark app to pay for the extra weight over 5 pounds. Congratulations on your sale!
Aug 24Reply

poshinistajen
@floreds I would recommend contacting your postmaster general and filing a complaint and/or calling the woman on the letter that is listed as a contact. Hi, I was just wondering, beginning too. If the shipping price is the same, does it mean it's the same for medium flat rate box or large? Prices are different on usps website. What it I want to send out a purse? Or pair of high heels shoes? Which boxes are right for that?
Sep 10Reply

poshinistajen
@danabiehl You may want to read through the Poshmark instructions for shipping. It explains it all. Essentially you can send up to 5 pounds in any Priority Mail or Priority Mail Flate rate box with a Poshmark label. (Express boxes not allowed.) You can also use any other box you may already have if the item is too big. If it's over 5 pounds you have to pay extra for a new label with extra weight. Hope that helps!
Sep 10Reply

poshinistajen
@danabiehl As far as specific boxes to order, the shoe box is great for shoes. The 12 x 12 box is good for purses or some of the flatter boxes also work. Its important to look at the dimensions to know if something will fit.
Sep 10Reply

danabiehl
So, all these boxes that are listed here, can be shipped for low expedited cost, if it's not over 5 lbs?
Sep 11Reply

poshinistajen
@danabiehl All of these boxes can be used with a Poshmark label that has a negotiated rate that includes up to 5 pounds. As a seller you don't pay for shipping. The buyer does. And that is the label you need to use.
Sep 11Reply

poshinistajen
@danabiehl Poshmark sends you the label via email when your item sells. You print it and attach it to the box. The items you have for sale currently don't look like they will weigh over 5 pounds. I'd recommend going to your local post office to get a few boxes or order them online for free. 1095, 1092 and 1097 are my favorites I use the most.

@kikitoo600 I don't have a better copy of it as I pulled this off one of the Facebook groups to post. They should have received it at every single post office nationwide. Sep 22Reply

poshinistajen
@gr8fulgrl There is a Priority Mail shoe box but I have found that it is too small to fit a lot of shoe boxes. So your best bet may be to reuse a box you already have on hand or ask your buyer if they really want the original box with the shoes.

@poshinistajen hi there, I’m a buyer and received an expensive nwt purse folded up into a priority envelope and now there’s a huge dent in the hard leather. My question is does Poshmark have regulations on purchase dimensions? The purse was under 5 pounds but was larger in size and should have been in a box. There was no bubble wrap or any protection either. I’m pretty upset because I’m a student and this was my after exam splurge :( let me know if you have any insight as I’m super new to posh.
Oct 04Reply

poshinistajen
@drbabyhandz If the purchase was not wrapped and protected by the shipping material and the item became damaged, that is on the seller. You have 3 days to open a claim with Poshmark. Do not accept the order as received. Go to Order/problems and report it as damaged. You will need to take photos of the damage. Posh will review the case and decide if you get a refund.
Oct 04Reply

drbabyhandz
@poshinistajen thanks for the info, it was not wrapped or protected sadly. I was really looking forward to this purse.
Oct 04Reply

poshinistajen
@drbabyhandz If it is not repairable I think opening a case and potentially returning it to the seller (after Poshmark gives you the go ahead) is likely your best option. Sometimes they offer a partial refund and other times just a full return. You can always find the same item from another seller and repurchase.

Oct 09Reply

poshinistajen
@beforeandagain There is a specific shoe box and the code for that is OSHOEBOX I believe if you want to search for it online. Note that not all shoe boxes will fit in there. Like Nike wide boxes, boots etc. You will need larger boxes for those. In those cases I usually reuse a box I already have from Amazon. Or ask buyer if it is okay to ship without the original box.

I had to go in lobby repackage what I could, most of the size priority boxes I needed were only available online. I went back up to the counter and I didn't have the label taped since I changes boxes, she said the post office does NOT tape labels either and didn't provide tape for everyone to use. @kbird7 You can ship in anything you want really. I wouldn't go out and buy packaging though unless you really need to. You can order envelopes and boxes for free online from USPS. Just stay away from the Priority Mail Express boxes and envelopes as those do not work for Poshmark labels.

@cedrlcka Correct! You can put in a drop box if big enough for hour box (not all POs have drop boxes for packages) , or take it to the counter during business hours, or schedule a pickup on USPS.com or have your carrier take it. My carrier prefers I put a note in my mailbox that there is a package on the porch for pickup. Also I mail mine at a local grocery store PO station sometimes. Lots of options!

I am shipping a large hard purse that cannot be rolled up. It will not fit in the large USPS box. Am I able to use a larger plain cardboard box? And if so, will I need to pay for additional postage when shipping? Thanks so much
Nov 18Reply

poshinistajen
@sandiekayes You can use any box you already have. If it is over 5 pounds you will need to upgrade the label and pay extra. (Get a kitchen scale to weigh) The box would have to be pretty big to be over the max dimensions for Priority Mail. You may want to check the web site for that max. You will have to measure your box or the postal workers will when you drop it off.
Nov 21Reply

angelabebe
I just shipped an item under 5 pounds using a Priority Mail medium box. The postal worker at the desk told me I should not be shipping any Poshmark item in their Priority Mail boxes. She says I have to use my own box. This is in contradiction to Poshmark's shipping guidelines. Please advise.
Nov 22Reply

soappups
@sandiekayes i think you can as long as it doesn't weigh more than 5lbs.
Nov 22Reply

poshinistajen
@angelabebe Obviously the postal clerk is wrong and has bad information. We have ALWAYS been able to use Priority Mail boxes and starting late 2017 we were able to use Priority Mail Flat Rate. The only ones we cannot use are Express boxes. Ask to speak to the manager or postmaster general. Or even better, file a complaint online. That usually gets their attention and fixes the situation.
Nov 23Reply

angelabebe
@poshinistajen Thank you for the advice. I have emailed Poshmark and I believe they will contact my post office. I will continue to use Priority Mail boxes. I will speak to the manager at my post office if I encounter another issue.

Oh my Lord YOU are a God sent! Thank you, thank you so much for this info. I read every comment until my eyes became blurred at January of this year. 😆 I did not see the Shoebox (oshoebox) 7.5, 5 1/8, 14 3/8. Would this be ok to ship also?
Nov 25Reply

poshinistajen
@likeditboughtit Yes the shoe box is fine! You can use any Priority Mail box regular or Flat Rate as long as it does not say Express on it! Good luck with sales!

@epedrick See if you can download or join one of the Facebook groups and search for this same letter in higher quality. You literally shouldn't have to print it out. just blow it up on your phone and show the postal worker if you have a problem.

Just want to say thanks for all this; I've got a batch of clothes I was planning to list but finding out what packaging was ok was really difficult! (I normally use flat rate padded for auctions, etc but couldn't find out if it would work with Posh's labels.) After reading through this, you have just saved me from trying to use ANY flat rate packaging! Thanks!

can I use a flat rate box if I scribble out the verbiage? or maybe I should add wrapping paper? flat rate boxes are all I have right now
Dec 14Reply

poshinistajen
@ekelsey314 Flat rate boxes are allowed. You may just have to educate your postal employee if they give you a hard time. No need to scribble anything out. Just refer them to the verbiage on the bottom of the label or the letter on this post.
Dec 14Reply

I now have 3 Post Offices who have rejected my flat rate medium boxes, after shipping in these for 6 months. Even after this last office when I pulled the letter out...the employees (2) refused to read it. Said they have been having packages coming back from the distribution center as improper package usage. They won't give me a receipt but I can take a chance and just drop the package off in the drop off box. The risk will be returned or buyer gets funds due on the other end so they told me.
Jan 06Reply

poshinistajen
@robin2son They are absolutely wrong. I suggest reaching out to the woman listed on the letter and give her the info on the post offices you have been having problems with. Flat rate boxes have been acceptable for years now. The PO employees need to be educated and stop acting like we are scamming the system. Sorry you have to deal with that!
Jan 06Reply

mebqueen
I can’t seem to find the answer anywhere so I’ll try asking. My seller accidentally used an express box and the post office wants me to pay $32. Would it be easiest for me to refuse the package and have it sent back to the seller so they can send it in the right box? I really feel like it was a simple mistake but I’m still new to Poshmark so I’m not sure what to do! Thank you!
Jan 07Reply

poshinistajen
@mebqueen Exactly! You will need to refuse shipment if it came in an Express box. Poshmark will not reimburse either of you for paying the PO when it was the seller's mistake. The seller will need to contact Poshmark Support to get directions/a new label. It may take a while but should be easily resolved. Seller will likely get a slap on the wrist and be told to read the protocol for shipping.

Thank you for posting this USPS letter. I just called the number and complained. I was harassed and humiliated by a postal clerk that would not accept my flat rate packages. I spoke to her manager that agreed with the clerk and they refused to accept my packages. They said I had to repackage in Priority Mail boxes. I was a 1/2 hour from home.
Jan 13Reply

They ripped open my packages and repacked them in Priority Packages. Then didn’t even scan them in but threw them aside. It was horrific. I take care in how I package and don’t even know how these packages look.
Jan 13Reply

I told the USPS gentleman I reported this too and he apologized and said they were absolutely in the wrong. I gave him the manager and clerks name and asked him to call and straighten them out so this does not happen to another Posher at that Post office again.
I typically use Priority boxes but due to the short supply at the holidays was unable. I will have this letter in hand the next time I may have to use a flat rate box

bohoandbling
@poshinistajen can we use a flat rate box for 5 or jeans and pay the difference up to the flat rate price as opposed to paying the more expensive posh upgraded label?
Jan 30Reply

poshinistajen
@bohoandbling You can try to package it up in a regular Priority Mail box and take to the post office and ask if they will do that. Some have in the past but depends greatly on your local PO. They may say no. If you do flat rate they will likely charge you the entire cost to mail flat rate. So it is usually much safer to upgrade the label through Poshmark even though it seems expensive.
Jan 30Reply

poshinistajen
@bohoandbling If you do anything that causes a new tracking number to be generated outside of Poshmark it is your own liability if the buyer never accepts their package. You could lose both your product AND your cost to ship it. It's highly risky and you wouldn't be covered under Poshmark's policy. So I would just recommend upgrading the label and saving yourself time, energy and stress.
Jan 30Reply

poshinistajen
@bohoandbling You get up to 5 pounds for any Poshmark shipment. If you sell large bundles over 5 pounds it is a good idea to charge more to cover your out of pocket shipment costs. Or break the transaction into 2 bundles and have the buyer pay shipping twice.

@poshinistajen I have a question about boxes. I had a pair of boots new in the box so obviously the priority boxes were too small. So, I went in to the PO and was gonna ship in a 16x17x17 box which is all they had that would work. The postal worker argued and would not accept it because they wanted to charge me $36 plus the box.CONTINUING BELOW
Feb 06Reply

deserteagle7479
@poshinistajen I knew I had to purchase the box but I didn’t think that size of box would matter as long as it was under 5lbs which it was like 4lb 6oz. Instead of just scanning it in she weighed it and put in the zip then measured it. Please help!
Feb 06Reply

poshinistajen
@deserteagle7479 I believe you are correct. You had the Poshmark label to affix it right? You purchased a plain box right? And if it was 16x16x17 you should be under the 108" maximum. As long as it was under 5 pounds you should have only had to pay for the box. I recommend sending a copy of your receipt to Poshmark Support as well as going on USPS web site to report the issue. They should be giving you a refund.
Feb 06Reply

deserteagle7479
@poshinistajen yes plain brown box with pre-printed posh label and they ended up making me wrap the actual boot box in brown paper and mail it that way- which I wasn’t very happy about because the box could get damaged.
Feb 06Reply

poshinistajen
@deserteagle7479 Also I would recommend not purchasing boxes at the Post Office. (order a variety of free boxes online) For large items Try to use ones you have around the house or go to a UPS store to find one that more accurately fits the item you are shipping. It sounds like maybe the postal clerk was struggling with the math and also didn't understand the pre-paid label.
Feb 06Reply

deserteagle7479
@poshinistajen also, the whole flat rate thing has been an issue for me also. I don’t understand why something isn’t done about this from a corporate stand point or else they cancel the contract with USPS and contract with a different carrier.
Feb 06Reply

poshinistajen
@deserteagle7479 That is unfortunate. The buyer probably won't be thrilled but at least it wasn't $36 right? I don't ever assume the PO will have a good selection of boxes so I always save my Amazon and Butcher Box boxes for these large items...
Feb 06Reply

deserteagle7479
@poshinistajen I save mine too but the two I had were too heavy and made it over 5lbs. It’s just crazy to me the lack of communication and training on this issue to begin with.
Feb 06Reply

Every time I’ve received a flatrate box for an item I’ve bought I’ve had to pay $12-$20 extra postage!! I don’t get why I have to pay extra when I already paid for my shipping on poshmark! Please help me!
Feb 22Reply

poshinistajen
@siama18 You should never pay postage if a Poshmark package comes “postage due”. I would refuse shipment and educate your local PO that flat rate is acceptable for 5 pounds or less. Now if the sellers are sending over 5 pounds that is a definite return to sender scenario. They must pay the extra postage.
Feb 22Reply

poshinistajen
@siama18 I recommend going into each purchase you had to pay and report a problem to Poshmark so they can refund your money you paid. Sounds like there is a problem at your local or regional package facility that is marking them postage due.
Feb 22Reply

siama18
@poshinistajen ok that’s what I thought! It’s so frustrating because I didn’t know what to do, if I sent it back I was afraid that I’d still get charged for what I bought because it was already taken off my card. But yeah so to date I’ve spent $38 in shipping on those two packages! That’s way more than my items even costed! From now on I will definitely just send back, but will I get reimbursed the money they take off my card?
Feb 22Reply

siama18
@poshinistajen Thanku so much for your help!
Feb 22Reply

poshinistajen
@siama18 Yes, if you refuse a shipment and it is sent back to the seller, your order will be refunded eventually (if it was the seller’s fault). The seller will get “dinged” for sending over 5 pounds without an upgraded label OR if it was a post office problem it will likely get rerouted back to you once someone realizes it has the correct postage and in that case you get your items but late.
Feb 22Reply

siama18

Feb 25Reply

poshinistajen
@karina1007 Hi there. Yes for eBay and other online platforms I believe they have a ship sheet that contains a barcode they can easily scan. You just need to tell them that Poshmark does not have ship sheets and you need each package scanned and a receipt provided to show proof of shipment. Sometimes during busy times they ask people to set packages in a designated area to be scanned later.
Feb 25Reply

Cuz Poshmark hasn’t changed what it’s suppose to be yet
Mar 12Reply

poshinistajen
@manicavenues Poshmark has changed their labels several times over the years. The labels don't need to change. The USPS workers need to learn how to read them and read their memos from the USPS Account Manager for Poshmark that has outlined multiple times since late 2017 that we can use flat rate or regular Priority Mail boxes.
Mar 12Reply

manicavenues
@poshinistajen I do agree with that, but there are a lot of new workers and we all need to be patient with eachother - today this guy didn’t know what to do and I didn’t wanna argue because was new - it’s all new for all of us
Mar 12Reply
