I had a partial mastectomy in Sept 2016 and my husband hasn't worked since May 2016 due to a wreck caused by brake failure. My medical bills are out of control. Please help. I never realized that chemo makes you this sick. I'm so grateful for the kind and encouraging words since my diagnosis.

closetenvy2 @dkjewelry I'm so sorry. I've had cancer twice and am now dealing with Lyme Disease and severe black mold poisoning to the point I have to use a walker or wheelchair. I know what you're going through. Any time you need to talk, please feel free. It's gonna take every bit of fight you have in you, and you'll want to give up at times. It's OK to be scared. It's not ok not to fight. That's what my doctor told me. I should 100% be dead, but every time I wanted to give up, he would remind me of that.

closetenvy2 @dkjewelry Cry, scream, throw tantrums. They do help! It's OK to be angry and afraid. It's healthy to get it out sometimes. But you know what, I'm mentally a much stronger person having gone through all of this, and I appreciate life so much more. 95% of your healing will be mental. You have to look into natural things as well, and consider meditation and yoga, if you can do it. Your brain controls how cells grow/spread, no matter what any doctor says.

closetenvy2 @dkjewelry So take care of your mental health just as much as the physical. Sorry for preaching, but I've just learned a lot. I was lucky that I didn't have to have chemo for cancer, but the black mold poisoning treatment is pretty much equal to chemo. You get extremely sick in the process. So I'm going through it right along with you. If the treatment I start January 1st doesn't work, they'll have to do chemo for it.

mcjayne @dkjewelry @partymk999 I know how devastating this can be, my bills will never all be paid, and I've come to the conclusion it's a necessary evil. Concentrate on YOU, I know how hard it is when you watch the interest build up, but I send $5-$10 to each & that's all they get. YOU are more important than bills. If you need anything, you have a "virtual" shoulder to lean on. You are in my prayers. I'm in my 4th month of remission for multiple myeloma. It's usually terminal, I'm still here. 😘

twk_jewelry @closetenvy2 You have been through a lot. I just spent 5 nights in the hospital and I wanted to quit. I've only had one chemotherapy treatment and it made me sick for a week then my temperature started rising and spent 5 nights in the hospital and most days I was in terrible pain

mcjayne @dkjewelry Denice, exactly one of the many reasons I don't work a typical job anymore! The garnishments were just one after the other & it made working seem pointless! The best thing I've done was to file medical bankruptcy, it's stopped the calls, the threatening letters & the people who like to show up & serve me. What's your prognosis right now?

twk_jewelry @mcjayne They said my prognosis is good. My bills before the hospital stay and before chemotherapy was $63,000. I still need 3 more chemotherapy treatments and 30 rounds of radiation. Plus I'm having an outpatient surgery ( uterine ablation ) on December 22. I've had vaginal bleeding nonstop since August. I didn't know about medical bankruptcy. I'll check it out

mcjayne @dkjewelry my lowest point was when I had to do radiation and stay on the hospital in isolation for 22 very, long days. The nurses pushed my food under a lead door, I had to leave everything I took in, it was incinerated! I remember thinking I was so alone, I wasn't sure I would get through that. Yet here I am talking to you😘 we never know what we can survive, until we are forced to. I am so glad we met, you are a tough cookie, even when you don't think you are? I'll be glad to remind you.

closetenvy2 @dkjewelry I'm so sorry you're having to even worry about the financial aspect. It's a shame but unfortunately almost always the case. My insurance doesn't cover any of the treatment I need, so we've been saving a YEAR to start treatment and finally have enough.

closetenvy2 @dkjewelry I'm also sorry about the pain. I'm right there with you. Are they giving you anything strong enough? Fever is a horrible part of the treatment. I don't currently have cancer, but with what I have, I live with pneumonia. I'm not sure how long it's been since I've had a normal temperature. Btw, I don't want any of what I say to sound like I'm trivializing what you're dealing with. I'm just letting you know that you're not alone, and you will pull through. It's temporary.

closetenvy2 @dkjewelry It's very hard to see that on bad days isn't it? There's absolutely nothing wrong with you wanting to give up at times. I've spent many days in bed in the fetal position crying and telling my husband I'm done! At the time I mean it, but he always reminds me that tomorrow will be better. Just when you're about to tip over the edge, that's when family and friends, including all of us, will pick you up. You will come out on the other side a different and better person!! I promise!!
