See above. Earlier, several spam accounts hit our pages w comments tagging various users including ourselves trying to get us to go to some website, claiming to be the Poshmark team, giving away rewards. I just commented in reply letting everyone know that this was not legit & to avoid users clicking & getting caught up in something spammy ❤️ usually sites like that are made to steal identity and browser info after clicking. Thankfully these spam comments have now been removed by poshmark team!

@karisrenee thank you!!!
Nov 20Reply

karisrenee
@dinofinder Yeah, I got that twice by 2 separate fake accts. I think they're created by automated programs generated by hackers, not several individual gals. Poshmark only communicates via email and not a sketchy a$$ acct created today w/ 1 follower lol
Nov 20Reply

karisrenee
There are SEVERAL of these fake accts that are posting the same message everywhere w/ posh logo and the username "poshmark" followed by a series of random numbers. This is not the poshmark team. Thanks for sharing your post! I just put up one similar and then found yours xo

dinofinder
@karisrenee it's just too bad that ppl have to do things like this... whatever happened to honesty and integrity?😕

@dinofinder
I know right? It's just fashion and supposed to be fun! No need for hackers and spam or scams. Ruining a good time they are.😔

@dani1157 exactly!

Thank you

karisrenee
sheesh! It looks like they're still creating more @agluege Sorry to hear that! I posted "now removed" because I replied to a mass tag on another poor girl's page LOL and then the spam comment was removed and all that was left was my sass a$$ comment in response haha thank god I kept the screen shot to show her I wasn't just blowing up her page. But that just goes to prove- don't reply. Just ignore, block, and wait for posh to catch and delete it! xo

Agreed, not fixed 😡. Just got a message stating I had won something due to 100million following or sales. @$$ holes😡😡

I just got one from pmark38868 about 10 minutes ago.
Nov 20Reply

yhctim
I got 2 yesterday and 1 like 3 minutes ago.
Nov 20Reply

kyleycottrell
I've gotten 2 now, one being a couple minutes ago. I reported the users as spam and then blocked them! I think that's probably the only way to deal with them
Nov 20Reply

sajar3mbo
@poshmarkteam I just received 2 more one 48 minutes ago and one 11 minutes ago so I've received a total of 4 why do they keep tagging me? Can they figure out my credit card numbers I have linked to my account? If this continues to be a problem do I need to delete my account?
Nov 20Reply

louiselevintage
Yep - still spamming away as of a minute ago. I reported and blocked 3 that I have been tagged in so far

OMGSH I was about to enter... uh I am way too trusting. So glad I found this post thank you! Will share!!
Nov 20Reply

karisrenee
No @sajar3mbo it's more about them getting your email address. See, they can get just about anyone's user name here just by getting on the Poshmark platform. Your account is public. The way that they try to scam you is to get you to come to their fake website and enter information about yourself. Thousands of people are getting these messages.
Nov 20Reply

karisrenee
(They could be getting names from anywhere- pulling them from a listing of people who commented on an item, people who have liked an item, etc.. It's not so much about how or why they got your username (because posh is a public platform), but the real issue is what happens if you take the bait to their website, which then risks the security of your accounts. As long as you don't reply, or go to their site, you're AOK.
Nov 20Reply

wildfiber
@karisrenee ahhh they keep generating SO many new accounts! It's like the feee iPhone scam all over again haha.
Nov 20Reply

karisrenee
Omg @simplesanctuary that one was the WORST!!!! 😂😂😂😂😂
Nov 20Reply

wildfiber
@karisrenee I tracked the websites IP address and all the accounts are coming from Atlanta, GA. So hopefully this will end soon 😂
Nov 20Reply

ballerinagirl33
I was tagged three times in the last 34 hrs.
Nov 20Reply

karisrenee
@ballerinagirl33 yeah I keep getting more too!
But I'm recommending to everyone to not even respond! We know these are not real individual people that are posting this. It's an automated program created by hacker types. And once Poshmark removes their comment, you're angry reply is going to be on your listing forever LOL just do not engage block report, and move on!

@karisrenee omg I got a similar comment like 5 or 6 times. Soooo annoying! I did the same as you, ignore, block and report but how many times do I have to do it? You did a good thing posting about it on here.👍🏼I just hope no one falls for this crap and gets turned off by posh, because I noticed that most of the tagged users are new poshers with little or no listings.😑
Nov 20Reply

ballerinagirl33
@karisrenee yes definitely. I did not reply but did accidentally hit follow on the first one before I realized what was going on. I have unfollowed but I will have to look up how to block and report. Did not do that yet. Thanks!
Nov 20Reply

dlzbth
Did you contact the Poshmark team so they could delete them? Or... how did that work? I have an ugly spammy comment also :/
Nov 20Reply

dfosterdayton
I just got this! How can this be prevented. I went to the site on my PC. I hope I did not introduce a virus. I hate this type of thing!
Nov 21Reply

behindthecloth
This has been so annoying.. I was so happy to find out they were already dealing with it when i emailed them!
Nov 21Reply

lbgraham
@karisrenee Hey there, just saw a new posher and I'm afraid something is up. I have reported them to Posh. Check them out and let me know what you think. @shoeclutch
Nov 29Reply

karisrenee
@lbgraham yeah, I'd definitely never shop with a seller who insists on payment any other way than here. It's usually a huge red flag of an upcoming scam. Even if the items are legit (which you cannot guarantee outside of poshmark protection), there's no reason NOT to complete the transaction here.
Nov 29Reply

karisrenee
If the 20% that they take is too high, then you increase your price to account for that. You don't post here then take the sale completely off platform. The only reason to avoid poshmark is if you have something shady to hide. Period.
Nov 29Reply

karisrenee
I'd avoid the page and not tag them on any more comments, because that sends them a notification just like when I tagged you above. You don't want to draw attention. In the future, I'd just type the username (no "@" sign) so that the person you message can look them up discreetly and not notify them that you're reporting them lol I'd block the account if you don't plan on doing business with them.
Nov 29Reply

lbgraham
@karisrenee I agree! I reported him so hopefully others will know what's up and report them as well. I hate to see people get scammed!
Nov 29Reply

karisrenee
@lbgraham especially when they don't know any better😩😩😩 it's a total trap!
Nov 29Reply

lbgraham
@karisrenee Hey there do you know any other sites like Posh that are safe that you would recommend?? Feeling really disappointed with Posh at the moment.
Dec 03Reply

karisrenee
@lbgraham awww i'm sorry to hear that! I've actually tried a few others, but I really have not found a single one that has had the community or customer exposure quite like Poshmark. This is the biggest platform right now. Tradesy has absolutely terrible customer support, merc is super scammy, eBay is too big to be noticed and gain following for regular sales...
Dec 03Reply

karisrenee
what about Poshmark has you so discouraged? I'd love to help if possible. You really just don't get the same type of exposure with other platforms, at least not from my experience thus far.

candyland__
Hello, I was wondering if you (or anyone) may be able to help. Ive also contacted Posh support but am looking though posts like these as well. I've have 3 sales in the past 2 days all with the name "guest" and then random numbers. Ex: @guest62832828. They are new users with 0 followers and following 0. Does anyone know if these are scammers? In all my time selling on here I've never seen this so I'm a little concerned. Can anyone help?
Dec 22Reply

karisrenee
@candy527 well i'd say you have two options. One, you wait a couple days before you actually ship the order to see if Poshmark sends you an email letting you know that they canceled the order because it's some kind of scam fake account. (This happens from time to time, especially when someone's credit card has been stolen).
Dec 23Reply

karisrenee
OR, you ship as fast as you possibly can and make sure that the item has been marked as shipped, and beyond that, your responsibility is done! If the order is then canceled by poshmark after you shipped it (where they reverse the charges), Poshmark will still provide you with your earnings because you fulfilled your responsibility of shipping on time.

I was recently scammed by @jesscolour84. I am dealing with it in a few ways but I am going to be suing in small claims court when I visit Dallas next month. I am wondering if you guys know of anyone who went that route successfully?
Jun 03Reply

ebaker321
Also, I will be looking into it myself but I am also wondering if anyone knows if it is better to request a jury trial or just a judge? I have never done small claims before (or justice court as it's called in TX).

I keep getting scam accounts that want to buy my expensive purses offline and they want to talk via email. I reported both of them today. But this is ridiculous that we have these scammer to deal with. It makes me scared to send out anything that is expensive to anyone.
