texaslariat Hi, this is the third time I have tried to post my answer and had it erased for some reason, so I will break it up. The fabric is more si.ilar to fleece than sweatshirt, but softer and smoother than fleece.

texaslariat @lasmada The color is a little darker than the photo, but not as dark a black as a highly pigmented, smoother fabric like jersey or shirt fabric can be. Definitely not a distressed wash.
