msullivan034 Definitely sharing this! The replica industry is expanding more and more and getting more tricky each day. Twice I’ve received replicas on here and was furious. I encourage all of my buyers to take items to Sephora or Ulta to have them verify authenticity. I’m not sure if you tagged me because you thought I sold replicas or because you knew I didn’t - but either way now you know I am all about sharing this info!

msullivan034 Ok yes you had me double check all my Kylie’s! I went as far as pulling them from sale, purchased 2 from her site, and waited to compare mine to ensure they were authentic (they were.) But I’m glad I waited to double check because I didn’t buy them directly so they could have been fakes. Keep spreading the word!

These replicas also dilute the value of our real high end cosmetics and then people expect the same price. msullivan034 I just did a search for Kylie lip kits and the first ten or so are all replicas. I reported them all but they will still be there long enough for someone to come buy them. Too Faced pallets are almost just as commonly replicated - a white chocolate bar search provides all replicas as well. Posh doesn’t take this serious enough.

I’ve actually reported Poshmark to the Federal Trade Commission and the FBI counterfeit investigation section (I can’t remember the actual branch name). It’s insane how long it takes them to shut people down. It pisses me off so bad

I see it everywhere now - eBay, Amazon, FB etc. and no one seems to care - there are even FB groups where they sell nothing but replicas and I’m like how the hell is this allowed. If it was a group selling heroin it’d be shut down - but this is just as illegal and they let it go. Smh!!!

letsglow @newlynelson it's truly terrifying, I know people personally that buys fakes knowing that it is fake. I have tried to warn them and all they keep saying is oh well. Smh!! It's worth the extra money to spend to get authentic, then risk possibly getting a staph infection, chemical burns, and all the other horrifying stuff. But for people that don't know how to spot it, this is great for them to see and read on so they can learn what to look for in fakes.

msullivan034 I think we should start a listing of all the replica items that we have identified and reported and follow up and see how long it takes Posh to respond. 9/10 they don't respond because they send these listings to Posh Ambassadors to review. I review listings all the time and I don't know much about certain brands so I have to pass on the item. This whole system is flawed. I think we should keep track and then send the listing to Poshmark to show them how poorly it's handled.

I think it’s ridiculous but my friend was banned for it. Poshmark doesn’t care either because I’ve brought to their attention NUMEROUS times.

Jeffree star has done a bunch of “sting” operations with customs and sued a bunch of the third party retailers and you barely see many JS counterfeits. msullivan034 @newlynelson I am including receipts with any of the makeup I sell. If a seller doesn’t have a receipt it is a huge red flag. This needs to end! We all need to be proactive in reporting fakes or we will end up not being able to sell ANY makeup. Let’s all make a commitment to integrity and only buy from trusted sellers.

And there’s more and more sites offering replica items all the time.
