I would like to share with you this story because I want you to be aware of the dangers of this platform. I have been a posher for a few years now and I have always been completely satisfied with this app. A week ago this woman by the name of Bree (see attached photo for username) agreed to trade a Cartier ring with me for three of my items that were just as expensive ( all authentic like the rest of my items) CONTINUES IN COMMENTS

lefleurdelish Prior to the trade, I had a bad feeling about this after reading the comments on her profile and having received messages from other poshers warning me about this woman. By the time I realized I was possibly being scammed, it was too late— I had sent my items and could not intercept them and get them back. She received my items last Saturday per the post office ( a week ago).

lefleurdelish
lefleurdelish I contacted her several times in the interim asking her to please upload the tracking information for the ring she had agreed to trade. She didn’t. She was not responsive for days. Her excuse was she “was not sitting on her ass all day waiting for posh notifications.” To an extent that was a fair statement, I get people have lives, etc, etc.

lefleurdelish But when you are committed to something, out of common courtesy, you check your app perhaps once a day to see where you stand with your trades, sales, etc...

lefleurdelish Anyway, luckily or unluckily rather, I was able to obtain her phone number through one of her posts on her profile. I approached the issue in a very professional manner, however things escalated quickly. Because of our conversations it was clear the woman never had any intention to send her ring. I asked her kindly to send my items back.

lefleurdelish She brought up family issues, such as a relative in a hospice, being a single mother, to threaten me she lied she was a lawyer and her entire family were police officers (Like a good scammer would), she told me she was out of town , and so many other excuses people with severe issues would lie about. Who lies about a dear relative being in a hospice is beyond me. Today I contacted her one last time, asking her to please either send the items back or to let me know if she’s keeping

lefleurdelish them so that I no longer contact her and/or waste my time or hers. She started her response with “your items are a knock off. I have a friend who works at Tiffany and he told me.... you are a f**** RETARD.” Let that sink in and give you an idea of what kind of human this person is.

carolynnanne8 Since you have the address that your items were mailed to, you can report this to the USPS OIG. They investigate mail fraud, as you have described. It is fraud because she had agreed to send you items and it is a FEDERAL offense. You can get more information on USPS’s website. Please do report it!! They can stop this from happening to others and prosecute the offender!!

anadiez
anadiez Wow! I'm new to Poshmark and what I'm reading is disconcerting. You want to trust people, and situations such as yours make it difficult to have faith in the trustworthiness and honesty of others. What she's done is fraud, criminal possession of stolen property, and larceny. I practice law and would advise you to file a complaint in your local precinct. Also, Poshmark must have some remedy for this type of situation. I'm sure it's not the first time. Good luck
Nov 24Reply
lefleurdelish
lefleurdelish @anadiez thanks so much for the input :) my cousin also practices law and he told me how to proceed. It is now two weeks since she received my items but it appears she believes she won this battle, so I believe it’s time to take action. I will let you know how it pans out! And although this story and many other are disheartening, just take the right precautions on here and you’ll be ok. I have been a user for years and I love this app 🌹🌷

aashleymic
aashleymic Wow that sucks. BUT that is also why even Poshmark itself warns against trading! They encourage you to always complete your sales through Poshmark! Poshmark (when used the correct way) is a great service so you cannot blame Poshmark. I don’t care how “nice” you are, you should NEVER trade with anyone.
Dec 29Reply
aashleymic
aashleymic Ive also noticed the common theme of everyone that got scammed on Poshmark has to do with a trade which at that point, if you get scammed through a trade there’s really no one to blame but yourself.
Dec 29Reply
lefleurdelish
lefleurdelish @aashleymic we are gonna have to agree to disagree on this one. But I do appreciate the input 🌷
Dec 29Reply
dutchessxoxo
dutchessxoxo @aashleymic I take it you have never traded. There is an entire community of Poshers that trade among ourselves. There will always be the outlier in this case someone with a clear intent to scam. Why u would come on someone else's post and attend to shame the victim is beyond me. Completely unnecessary.
Jan 03Reply
dutchessxoxo
dutchessxoxo @fezbenavides shes new to posh as well and in no place to comment one way or the other. People!!
Jan 03Reply
aashleymic
aashleymic @dutchessxoxo excuse me?? First of all, I stated a FACT that is in Poshmark’s guidelines which basically says you should really only be making sales through Poshmark and that they discourage trading. I am very well aware of the “community” that trades on the regular so don’t try to school me.
Jan 03Reply
aashleymic
aashleymic @dutchessxoxo The point I was making is that it’s always best to make sales “the right way” to prevent this from happening. I’d heard of tons of stories like that on Poshmark (not just this one) all because people go against the guidelines and blindly trust someone. The guidelines are there for a reason (regardless of your little trading group) to prevent these situations...
Jan 03Reply
aashleymic
aashleymic @dutchessxoxo and FYI a small closet doesn’t mean you’re new to Poshmark. I’ve been an active member on Poshmark way longer than you have (yes I checked when you joined). Check your statements before you go saying something false next time....

ambarabella86 Hi, did you file complaint? Did you get your items back? This is why I'm very hesitant to trade anymore. This scammer you listed approached me wanting to trade for a LV by adding to bundle in Nov. Both closets listed are deleted now. I hope you turned her in and received your items back. We all know the Poshmark policies, but the whole appeal of Poshmark was that you could trade. That's how a lot of us have fun on here. Scammers started ruining experience.
Jan 16Reply
ambarabella86
ambarabella86 I got scammed last year for Christmas. I had purchased two bags from the girl I met off here before. Everything went really great! On my third purchase, I paid and she scammed me out of my money for a Gucci Web. Sometimes, the trade will go well. They will earn your trust. Then they'll scam you for something big. Because you already did a trade , walk into scam trap. Be careful💝

snowqueensgems Does Bre live in Colorado? I ask because I bought 2 items from that posher. She sold a dress as a size 6, but when it arrived, I discovered it was a Juniors 5/6. I had to file a claim to return. Now most people would say “Sorry, my bad,” but she got incredibly aggressive and told 100 different stories in the claim comments. (cont.)
Feb 09Reply
snowqueensgems
snowqueensgems That’s not the bad part. Fortunately, PM saw the truth & granted the return, so I returned both items. A few days pass. THEN I get an email from PM saying that the seller told them I had kept the 2nd item!! Fortunately, I had kept the USPS tracking receipt, and it showed that the weight of what I returned = the weight of the package I received, so nothing could be missing. Again, good on PM, because they understand and believe me. IT GETS BETTER. (cont.)

nm2013 I’m so sorry you had that experience. I’m new to selling on Poshmark. I just had my first sale and had what I believe to be a scam. The buyer is stating what I sent was damaged. I didn’t take a lot of pictures so can’t prove the quality of the item I sent. My fault and I know next time to be more diligent with my photos. I now have a sale for a David Yurman ring and I’m so scared to send it. The buyer is relatively new has no listings. I’m just reluctant to sell on here now.

shitzkascloset
shitzkascloset @lefleurdelish I was just scammed - my first time since 2014 when I started trading on Posh. cj1976cj and I traded... my NWT DOONEY for a guess backpack - not even leather. But she seemed sweet and was so excited to get a Dooney. I needed a backpack for a friend’s gift. So I continued with the trade
Nov 12Reply
shitzkascloset
shitzkascloset @kelliann21 cont from above... cj1976cj was very pushy about the trade. Wanted to know which post office I mailed out of, what tracking info I had, why I hadn’t mailed the day we exchanged labels, etc. I sent my bag... she received and reported my DOONEY as a fake. I was horrified. She sent pics to posh of my bag damaged... she had cut it and pulled the threading, stitching etc. I just wanted my bag back!
Nov 12Reply
shitzkascloset
shitzkascloset @nm2013 cont from above...I got home from work the next day and found an ENVELOPE IN MY MAILBOX. I saw the label was from this girl. But a backpack was not going to fit in an envelope. I opened it. EMPTY. I reported it to posh. They said they don’t get involved. So she had my Dooney, and ruined it. I had an empty envelope. No backpack. Posh was not helpful at all. Replied to every inquiry I sent with a pre-processed form letter.
Nov 12Reply
shitzkascloset
shitzkascloset @lefleurdelish I contacted my PD, who took a statement and opened a case. But they told me that honestly it would likely never be looked into. I called her PD. They called the girl. She denied sending empty envelope and told them I sent her fake bag. They said we had a ‘he said/she said’ case and they weren’t getting involved. I cannot get a real person from posh to return my calls. The posher has posted lies and pictures of my ruined bag in her closet.

legallyjeweled
legallyjeweled I just purchased a 1.7mm 18” chain the seller represented to be an 18 k David Yurman. Seller advertised it came with the pouch and the original paper work. Neither were included, just a generic authentication for a similar chain done by “The Real Real” dated in 2018. The only reason I was willing to purchase it was that the ORIGINAL papers were promised. Now I’m in a war with posh mark to accept the return. Then I noticed this seller has sold that exact chain before and has one now.

lefleurdelish @legallyjeweled I’m so sorry that happened to you! Have you accepted their sell yet? You can still get a refund even if you did. You have buyers protection. Make sure when you send it back to them you record everything and take photos because they always want to pull something

legallyjeweled @lefleurdelish I actually refuted the sale and demanded to return rather necklace and get a refund. The seller actually is claiming the unverifiable copy of a real real authentication from a necklace that resembles this one in a very blurry photo on it qualifies as THe original paper work and that the plastic punks wrap sack she packed it in is a “pouch”! Unbelievable. No buyer expecting the original paperwork and pouch would or should accept this as authenticated. Original means original!

legallyjeweled @lefleurdelish FYI the seller is Amandascott. Avoid this seller as she is bad news!

legallyjeweled @lefleurdelish since you are the victim of internet crime and possibly even mail fraud. You should report her to the FBI and file a criminal complaint with the District attorney in your city…and possibly contact your state attorney general’s office. You have actual damages since she stole your property. It’s theft by fraud.

legallyjeweled @lefleurdelish FYI Poshmark finally authorized the return over her objections. Mailed it back today. Scary though because it seems crazy she’s apparently gotten by with this without being called out for it. No telling how many times she may have included that same “valuation report” with other sales she represented she had and was including “the original paperwork”Thanks for your input. Not sure I’ll ever buy anything from Poshmark again though because this was such an unnecessary ordeal.

zulmavaldes I know how you feel! I recently got scammed on here. I purchased a “David Yurman” bracelet and when I received it, instantly I knew it wasn’t real. So I filed a return. The seller proceeded to insult me and even sounded treating. Posh agreed with me and I was able to return! I have since noticed the person has several accounts and is selling all this useless crap! I really hope your situation gets resolved! So sorry this happened to you 🙏🏻🙏🏻

qsusie89 @lefleurdelish I was almost scammed out of 3 Huge boxes of every and anything you see in my closet and a ton of stuff u don’t. I called the local police department in her area in Rosemont Minnesota and they informed me that she (Aron Melton) had already been on her radar. She claimed to be a lawyer too and have police in my area. I was in the legal fief for 30 yrs & I really do have family on the Police force as well as friends.

qsusie89 @lefleurdelish I started to go back & discovered like 50 or 60 a/k/a. How she gets away with it is beyond me. In those 3 boxes was about 35 to 40 grand & the policia intercepted it without me even asking. Have you tied that? The only thing I didn’t get back was $170 bucks she had me overnight a cell phone for her daughter and needed it the next day. When I didn’t see it in my acct right away I knew & went into panic mode.
